Re: Buying used machines?
The one I am buying is a resmed airsense autoset, the "for her" model. I figure $250 is terrific for the machine, heated hose, regular hose, and a mask.....all brand new in package. Part of me is sad that they didn't at least give it a try. The other part is extremely thankful that I am able to scoo...

Re: Buying used machines?
Score! Found one new in package for $300....asked if she would take $250 and she said yes. I am picking it up Sunday. Comes with new heated hose too. I have to drive 2 hours to get there, but worth it if I am getting a brand new machine for that price.

Re: Wearing/not wearing the mask for total sleep time?
As others have explained.....it isn't just about good sleep. For 9 hours you deprived your brain and other organs of oxygen. I can totally sleep for 17 hours. It isn't something I do all the time but when given the opportunity? Like once a year? Yep. I don't think that means there is something wrong...

Re: New product watch. LUMIN SANITIZER.
Welp....I take a few years off and come back to find that not much has changed around here. lol That's correct. There is still a lot of snark here. Thanks for adding to it. You are welcome. Anytime. :) Although I didnt see anything particularly snarky about what I said. If you want snark I will be ...

Welp....I take a few years off and come back to find that not much has changed around here. lol I have always been a hose washer. Do what works for YOU. I don't mind replacing a hose from time to time. It is the cheapest part of the whole system. Really not a big deal if it gives you some peace of m...

Re: Buying used machines?
Dang it. Nevermind on that particular machine. She just got back to me and let me know it has been sold.
But the questions still stand. I am still looking for that particular machine locally.

Buying used machines?
I need to get a new machine. Mine is 12+ years old now and I am not in love with some of the noises it is making. I started searching local sale sites and found one for a price that is insane. A local woman selling a Resmed Airsense auto for Her.......for $100. Claims it was only used once. This see...

Re: Dating after divorce & CPAP
I was like 25 years old when I was diagnosed. I was a single mom at the time. I was always just up front about it very early on. When I started dating the man who is now my husband I mentioned it on our first date.......he was talking about how he liked star wars and I told him that was great becaus...

Re: Weight loss and getting off CPAP
Weight loss sometimes INCREASES the pressure needed to prop the airway open. Still the old "Weight loss, blah, blah, blah" MYTH continues to exist. Weight loss (when needed) is a good thing, and helps with most other things, but perpetuating that hideous myth is is unspeakably CRUEL. YES!!!! I am l...

Re: Weight loss and getting off CPAP
Wish I could say weight loss worked for me. I gained a metric ton of weight after starting cpap 12 years ago. Then lost 165 pounds 5+ years ago. I am smaller now than I was when I was diagnosed. My sleep apnea never improved. Mine is not weight related.

Re: How to choose CPAP machine after sleep study?
I would be very interested to know where to get the For Her model for that price. I have a decade old S8 elite. I stopped treatment 3 years ago. I had lost 165 pounds 5 years ago and my AHI had shot up horribly and I could not get my pressure dialed back in. I was also suddenly dealing with other is...

Re: Newbie would like to hear success stories, please.
I have been on CPAP for almost 3 years now. I am a 29 year old mother to a beautiful daughter who just turned 5. I noticed a difference right after my sleep study. I came home and played with my daughter. I took her to the park..then washed my car. But after getting my machine in home it was a bit d...

Re: Do dental devices cause teeth to move?
The liberty made my lower front teeth hurt so bad I wanted to cry every morning. Within 2 weeks my lower teeth had started to shift....I switched masks. The FFM also started shifting my lower teeth, but not as quickly. Now I use the Swift LT....no more teeth issues. The dental devices, from what I h...

Re: New to therapy, lots of long winded questions...
The QuattroFF and Ultra Mirage FF are very popular masks and can be adjusted for higher pressures in most cases. Although not lately, my husband has slept with his UM with no leaks at 13cms. I have used both of these masks...my pressure is set at 16, and I dont have leak issues. It took me about a ...
