Re: OT: sleep study
Doc said, because of Covid they no longer test in lab. I think I'd get a second opinion on that. Yes, my wife just got a sleep study in the local sleep lab a few months ago. What helped me get through my sleep studies was using Ambien...my sleep doctor told me that it doesn't affect the data to any...

Re: Nose Masks vs Full face mask
Try using it, and if the mask works for you, fine. I've heard of people being surprised that a nasal mask or a nasal pillows mask works for them. If it doesn't, before giving up there are various things that you can try, like tongue position training, mouth taping, and various other ideas for not br...

Re: AHI Vs Mask Leaks – Which one ?
Also have mask leaks here. My leak number goes from about 6 - 16 typically, averaging about 10, depending on how much I toss and turn. I'm using the N30, a nasal cradle mask, and I'm a side sleeper. So the mask gets pushed around a lot overnight. The leaks don't wake me up, and I'm around my usual A...

Re: I need a new machine
I have an AirSense 10, my wife has the 11. I like the 10 better, even though in most things I'm an early adopter. The fact that I have spare parts for the 10 is helpful, but I like the onboard monitoring on the 10 better. On the 10, I can display headline results for 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months...

Re: A nose mask too tight can make it harder to breathe?
Hi, people! I'm new here so I'm sorry if this question is too basic. I just started with CPAP, my equipment is a Dreamstar Intro Evolve (rented) and I got a nose mask (Mirage FX). The thing is, when I tighten it to keep it from leaking a feel a huge pressure over my upper lip when I lay down and I ...

Re: Melatonin Dosage
Been taking 0.3mg (300mcg) melatonin dose at night before bed for years now. Seems to help me to get to sleep, and makes it easier for me to go back to sleep. I did a lot of reading about it on the internet before starting to use it, and most suggested starting with .3mg and going up from there if y...

Re: Swift LT discontinued - looking for replacement
If the AirFit P10 doesn't work for the OP, there's also the ResMed Swift FX. The Swift FX headgear has a little more structure and consistent fitting than the P10...worked better for me than the P10 for several years. The major concern with the Swift FX for me was the "jet of air" vent, instead of t...

Air fit N30 headgear clasp slips overnight
Anyone come up with a good way to keep the “buckle” clasp on the N30 mask from slipping overnight? That doesn’t involve getting hard to remove goo on the headgear? There’s probably an easy, clean way to do it that I’m not aware of?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Cat has destroyed my hoses!
Well, our bedroom has a door, and I have a low-level allergy to our cat. So we keep the bedroom door closed all the time to keep the cat dander down in the bedroom. Although the cat wants to get in that room in the worst way now and then, she just can't. She still tries sometimes, especially since h...

Re: I'm so close, but still can't find the right nasal cradle
Thank you for the comments. I went back to the N30 and sent the Evora to my "mask graveyard". The place I ordered the small cushion from takes ages to ship (at least it feels that way when you are desperate!) so in the meantime, I've started putting a flex-fabric bandage on the end of my nose to bl...

Re: I'm so close, but still can't find the right nasal cradle
My sleep tech threw a bunch of different masks at me, and the two that I am happiest with are the ResMed AirFit N30 size medium (they were out of small) and the F&P Evora Nasal size small. Any kind of hard plastic mask is a no-go, and all the nasal pillows make my nose burn. The N30 was so, so comf...

Re: Ive been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea – Now I’m getting very worried
after a short period of time ( 1 – 2 hours ) I start to think to my self that things are not working as I’m not falling to sleep. So out of continuing frustration I remove the mask and turn off the Resmed machine . I’m not sure if any personal feelings are playing a part in my current situation , l...

Re: What is the best CPAP Battery for Travel
I had a TalentCell LiFePO4 battery that I used for radio use, and ran my ResMed AirMini off of it for 3 nights and judging by the bars I had on the built in meter, I bet it would have run for a week, but it's also 7 lbs, so not so travel friendly. 24 AH. But I had to get a Noco Genius 2 charger and...

Re: One week update. Not great. :(
Since there are soooo many mask choices, any that seem to do better for side sleepers? My current one shifts and leaks. I'm also a side sleeper, and find it difficult to find masks that don't leak too much with that sideways pressure from a pillow. I've been having good success lately with the AirF...
