Re: Tell me what you think
When I was using the Dreamwear mask and sleeping on my side, I noticed if I tightened the mask up just a little bit more than was comfortable, that I could get really good leak numbers. And it didn't keep me from sleeping, just a little tighter than I initially set it up when I started with it. If s...

Re: I lost 70 lbs. Do I need my machine?
I also lost about 40lbs. Took a second sleep study after that, and while my AHI went down, didn't get to "normal". The AHI on my side was about 4, considerably better than my first sleep study, but on my back about 52. If I slept solely on my side, which I try to do but don't quite get there *smile*...

Re: CPAP – Struggling and needing suggestions
Still, I think the better solution is to try a mask where the air is not rushing by the side of your head so that you have a better chance of being able to sleep in your side as well as your back. The Resmed AirFit N20, the Resmed AirFit N30 (but not the N30i), and the Resmed Swift FX Nano are all ...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 AutoSet
Had to have my AirSense 10 replaced due to whistling. Couldn't stop it from doing that any other way, and it prevented me from getting to sleep, obviously. Hopefully that won't be the case with yours, but since it should still be under warranty, there's no cost for replacement. Used my "travel" CPAP...

Re: Why pay a deductible?
You know that you can return unordered, unopened supplies from your DME for a refund? If you return 4 of the 5 cushions, you'll ease your burden a bit. I've found that my DME will send me all that Medicare will pay for as many times a year as Medicare will allow, and they last me a LONG time. I've t...

Re: Should I Have A New Sleep Study?
Just as a data point, I also lost about 40lbs, and had a new sleep study. While I had less apneas, I wasn't "cured", just had less. Still need a CPAP machine as before. However, no problem, I didn't lose the weight because I thought it would cure my sleep apnea, I lost the weight for my health. It c...

Re: which mask out of this two?
TheLankyLefty27 (or someone with a very similar user name) has extensively reviewed both the Dreamwear Nasal and the new and improved ResMed AirFit N30i masks on youtube.com. Highly recommend his video reviews. He does state his biases when they come up so that you can weigh those as well. Oh, by th...

Re: Sticky....Attn Newbies...Hints from forum veterans to help you with therapy hurdles
One thing that helped me a lot to get started (and to get enough data on my second sleep study) is using Ambien for my first week on CPAP. When I started on CPAP, I had a couple of essentially CPAP-less nights because I took off my mask so I could sleep. Got a prescription from my sleep doctor for A...

Re: My ResMed AirFit N30 review..others feel free to join in
Checking back in. Have the AirFit N30 under control now, and looking like I'll stay with it. At least until the Eclipse arrives. Got the leakage down to a paltry 8L/min, calling that good enough *smile*. Liking the light weight and diffused air vent. Hard to find masks that work for me since I had M...

Re: My ResMed AirFit N30 review..others feel free to join in
Kind of a late response, but I'm working on converting from the Dreamwear nasal mask to the N30. I also notice a higher base leak rate from the N30. With the Dreamwear I get about 6L/Min. for the 95% leak rate, and with the N30, about 10L/Min.. at this point, early on. On the other hand the N30 is m...

Re: Nasal masks - AirFit
I'd suggest also considering the Dreamwear Nasal mask. I've tried most of the Resmed nasal masks, but find that the flexibility of the Dreamwear nasal cradle mask really turns the trick for me. I'm a side sleeper, and find that the ResMed nasal masks that I've tried all end up leaking too much. Seem...

Re: New Here -- Have Questions
Haven't read every word of this thread, but there's a place that has used CPAP machines that cleans them up and resells them: secondwindcpap.com. Got a backup ResMed S9 Autoset from them a long time ago, and found their prices pretty fair for used CPAP's. They also give you a warranty. I feel more c...

Re: Just can't sleep with my mask on!
I think I am very sensitive to things on my skin . I have no idea if any medication could be making me more sensitive to the mask on my face. That's a good question but I have no reason to think so. And there is is always the fiddling with the masking bed to have a good seal that is still relativel...

Re: FFM for side sleepers?
Side sleeper here. The ResMed AirFit N30i and N30 didn't work for me, too much leaking, but the Dreamwear nasal cradle mask does. You might think about that while you're thinking about full face masks, the Dreamwear nose cradle cushion is quite flexible, and tends not to leak much for us side sleepe...

Re: Question for PCB/microchips experts on Airsense 11
Not too worried about it myself. First off, we have crap AT&T cell coverage here *smile*, never more than one bar, and sometime no bars on the CPAP display. So my sleep doctor usually has me bring in the SD card, since the cellular is unreliable. Also, I hear that it's just compliance data that's tr...
