Re: Beards with Respironics DreamWear Full Face Mask?

I understand the 'different strokes...' part of this therapy. Different equipment, adjustments, settings, responses...it's as varied as are the personalities and body types here. In that respect, the military attempts to find commonality to the extent possible to keep their inventories manageable. T...

I just downloaded it and found it opened only in Polish. For me, at least.

Re: Dry Eye & Mask Problem

Seasonal allergies, poor humidification for your conditions, mask air leak directed up into the eye(s), hose/mask exhaust directed toward eyes, something growing inside the machine/hose/mask to which you are sensitive, food/diet, medication or combos of two or more, your level of hydration (maybe as...

Re: Descaling humidifier using lemon? Tips please!

I wonder how the cost of electricity factors. It's cheap where it's cheaply had, such as near hydro dams, but it gets expensive if produced via nuclear or thermal/hydrocarbon means. Boiling several gallons of water to get a distillate may not be economical for someone who can't afford commercially p...

Re: Descaling humidifier using lemon? Tips please!

Good lord.... The scale is present for the OP because HE CAN'T USE DISTILLED WATER IN THE FIRST PLACE...IT'S TOO DAMNED EXPENSIVE. HE CAN'T AFFORD IT. FEW CAN IN THE UK. HE MUST PERFORCE USE WATER THAT CAUSES SCALING. HE WANTS TO KNOW HOW TO REMOVE THE SCALING. It's cheaper for him to purchase and u...

Re: Water yuckies

I have a question. I have had my AirSense™ 10 for several months now and am having a problem. Wondering if any body else has had this problem and what the solution would be or could possibly be. When I wake up in the morning, I go to pour out my remaining water from the reservoir and notice there i...

What would be your aim in doing so? Your AHI, as reported, is already in sublime territory........why not just mentally note the apparently spurious CA's and move on to the garden?

Re: tongue seal

I am an incorrigible mouth breather, but only when I sleep. Now five months into therapy, I have given up on learning to keep my mouth closed, chin up, or tongue help up toward my palate. I tape, and feel comfortable doing so. For me, I must tear the tape so that it is long enough to extend at least...

Re: SUFFOCATING WITH CPAP MASK ON

We need some evidence, something we can all read and interpret together. Here, that pretty much means sleepyhead.org's beta version from sourceforge. I'll lower my butt flap on my pj's and let my guess hang out there in the wind...a long and otherwise undetected central......? Maybe two or more in s...

Re: Adrenaline RUSH waking me up, SCARY

My cardiologist suspects that apnea was an immediate and direct precursor to my recently diagnosed atrial fibrillation. Eventually, my heart became irritable, easily aroused, easily aroused by adrenaline during times of stress. See where I'm going..........? I am now on a low dose of metoprolol, an ...

Re: Husband says I'm choking? MyAir score 98? Sleepyhead Fri 4/13

I actually got that, and thank you for the explanation. So, the flow must increase, but the idea is to maintain the pressure setting, so the machine merely compensates by more throughput. Unless there is more restriction, there could not be a greater pressure, no matter how fleeting. Makes sense. Do...

Re: Husband says I'm choking? MyAir score 98? Sleepyhead Fri 4/13

"...autos don't increase pressure due to leaks... that's a common misconception people have, but it's dead wrong. For one thing, what would be the point? Having more pressure would just make the leak worse! What does happen is the air flow increases to make up for the pressure lost from the leak... ...

It sounds positive in what you describe. I think the effect you are wondering about, longer sleeping periods, is simply....treatment. Or rather, successful treatment, and it may be something to do with not having to fret or grieve, maybe both....quite so much any more. When our minds get more quiet,...

Re: Acne pads ok to clean face?

I would use a single drop of dishwashing liquid soap and some warm water to wash my face, rinse, and pat dry with a cleanish towel. Then go to bed. Cost: $0.02. I use that for my mask as well...warm water, dish detergent, use finger tips under running tap, rinse well, air or pat dry with clean cloth...

Ron, that's what she's doing, as well as helping you to see that you are attempting to straighten a road that doesn't need straightening. Offering, suggesting, or directing changes to a regimen that is already optimized doesn't sound like helpful advice to me...or to Pugsy, apparently.
