Re: Fingers crossed Vitamin D is my fix!

I've been taking 5,000 iu a few times this last week. I'm being sent 50,000 iu pills for vitamin D. Once I get those it's 1 a week for I think 4 weeks. I just had overnight oximetry done to make sure I wasn't becoming hypoxic again despite good treatment. I love how I'm told my numbers are great and...

Re: Fingers crossed Vitamin D is my fix!

my vitamin D is 6! 12 and under is deficient. My latest lab work (56) said that "normal is 25-100" My range says over 50 is potentially toxic range and that the old values were up to 100 as ok. "NEW Interpretation as of 7/1/13 Vit D deficient <12 ng/mL Vit D insufficient 12-20 ng/mL Vit D sufficien...

Re: Managing OSA and IH

Have you had vitamin D checked? What do you think of sunosi? I'm on modafinal and it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Fingers crossed Vitamin D is my fix!

I've spent thousands on sleep. From mattresses, to adjustable bases, to toppers, pillows, sheets and comforters and Ive still always been tired. I finally "fired" my VA primary care team to get a new one. I laid it all out there including exhaustion, muscle pain and spasms, muscle fatiguability, and...

Re: OT: anyone familiar with abdominal nerve blocks?

Feeling is coming back! Dr said it could take some time but it's coming back.

So those bumps and then blisters were having discharge. They had to remove the glue from incisions because it was an allergic reaction to the glue.

It's disgusting lol

Re: OT: anyone familiar with abdominal nerve blocks?

I'm going to call Dr tomorrow. Still no feeling in that area and it's been like 84 hours since surgery. Feeling came back to other areas of abdomen the next day.

Have all these painful bumps now too around incisions and the incisions have been draining a little bit all day today.

Re: OT: anyone familiar with abdominal nerve blocks?

Thanks you too. I thought it was around 24 hours. As well which is why I asked. Just hoping it wasn't unintentional consequence. If it's still numb Monday I'll call surgeon.

OT: anyone familiar with abdominal nerve blocks?

I had laprascopic surgery Thursday where they only made 2 incisions on my right side. They were looking for and found some adhesions which they took care of. I went home an hour later or so and was told they did a block. On my left side I see a bunch of needle marks I assume from the blocks. How lon...

Re: Hypoxia and adhesions?

I told the nurses I was going to use my own and you should of seen their faces. Looking back at it now it's kinda sad they were content with me not using the supplied machine because I couldn't sleep with it without humidifier then allow me to use my own. I could use my own mask though. This time sh...

Re: Hypoxia and adhesions?

Maybe, he seemed pretty surprised and he seems good, he's private practice with all 5 star reviews. I haven't had some listen to me like he does. Surgeries were done laparoscopically at same time. Well colon was done robotically but same thing.

Re: Hypoxia and adhesions?

If you were hypoxic in hospital, they would have known about it and done something. Abdominal adhesions from previous surgery are common. I spent 4 days or so in hospital and wasn't hooked up to monitors. Sure they checked vitals including sp02 but I was awake for that. My sleep apnea was controlle...

Hypoxia and adhesions?

So I had surgery end of February to remove part of colon and gallbladder. I have been having issues since surgery and have another one scheduled soon to look for and address adhesions. Anyone have something similar happen to them? I also found this interesting article https://link.springer.com/artic...

Re: How much does your hospital charge for CPAP?

The RT told me people bring in disgusting machines which is infection risk to others. He still wouldn't even look at mine though.

Re: How much does your hospital charge for CPAP?

Looking at bill for when I had surgery and they charge $500 a night for a dreamstation without humidifier lol. When I saw your post yesterday, I thought, "Well, that's just the billable amount not the amount that the VA will allow. The allowable amount will be much lower." So, I looked up CPAP on t...

Re: AirSense Vs Dreamstation

I've been using dreamstation for while now. I temporarily used a resmed airsense 10 and actually like that better. It makes less noise and the auto on and off feature works a lot better too.
