Re: Thinking about those with good AHIs who still feel lousy
I had essentially no symptoms when my apnea was diagnosed. On treatment I have an AHI below 1 every night. I feel far more rested if I sleep without PAP. I dream and I sleep through the night. you dream in any case. you *remember* your dreams when your sleep is interrupted. Indeed the sleeping brai...

Re: Thinking about those with good AHIs who still feel lousy
Some of us don't find "the mask" right off the bat. It is not unreasonable to swap back and forth between two or three marginal masks to allow healing of the hurt bits. Whatever it takes to make the mask workable is worth the effort. Too bad insurance and our providers often fall short. The right m...

I had essentially no symptoms when my apnea was diagnosed. On treatment I have an AHI below 1 every night. I feel far more rested if I sleep without PAP. I dream and I sleep through the night. But using cpap every night would help you get used to cpap. Even after all these months, you should no lon...

any machine?? S9 Lumis Tx How does one get such a rare butterfly? call Resmed and order it : http://www.resmed.com/us/en/hospital/products/devices/lumis-tx.html I have a sneaking suspicion they won't sell to individuals. And that it may be quite cost prohibitive. I believe we use these at work. I'm...

Re: If you could have any machine, what would you pick?
So the AirSense 10 is still the favorite to the S9? Does that include the S9 ST-A model? The Airsense 10 line up is just an updated version of the S9 lineup, with a different form factor and integrated humidifier and cellular modem. The S9 and A10 lines both have several different models that provi...

Re: edit: Doctor says no apnea now pg. 3
Now she said she doesn't want to do another sleep study. I am just so frustrated. I was upset when she said you should be happy to not need the CPAP! I said that I went to the doctor because I wasn't feeling restored when I wake up. Now I'm just back to square one, but am out around $800-$1000. She...

Re: Somewhat OT/Eating to your meter
Part due to this thread I am making a better effort to get closer to control. My A1C is 7.8, I use avg of 200 to 210 units of insulin fast acting and NPH as needed. I eat very little in the morning, too large a dinner, snack in the evening with T.V., eat a small meal before bed (2 am). I find in be...

One organic item that isn't a scam (IMO), is milk that's free of antibiotics and synthetic hormones. It is the one thing we do pay the extra $$ for, acting on the advice of an Oncologist that specializes in breast cancer. My wife is predisposed to breast cancer anyway, so why take any unnecessary r...

Re: My Dad's Results
I got the copy of my dad's report. I'll upload it when I'm at a computer next. They had my dad using an Airfit F10. My mom has been saying my dad "breathes out his mouth like a fish" with the cpap on, and his Sleepyhead graphs show huge leaks. So I'm guessing the full face mask was essential in stop...

Re: Need a quick critique on this report please
The first thing to try to get rid of the centrals is to lower the exhaled pressure relief, which you currently have maxed out. On this report, your machine is currently in Autoset mode still, although at a very tight pressure range maxing out at 9. 9 is not enough pressure for you as you max out at ...
