Yeah, it actually helps the profits because you need lots of expensive test strips, and expensive insulin pumps and CGM's don't hurt either.chunkyfrog wrote:Of course, intelligently managing your diabetes does not cut as severely into the excessive profits of an ENTIRE INDUSTRY!

Re: My Dad's Results
Yeah, I'm in the US. My dad usually puts me on the HIPAA forms and I'm his healthcare proxy, but it's still easier for them just to say "no" then bother actually pulling the paperwork. I need to get my dad to call and ask for a copy of the sleep study. I guess my biggest question is- why wouldn't th...

My Dad's Results
Some of you have been following my journey to improve my dad's sleep apnea treatment. He's been using an S9 Escape at a pressure of 9 for about 7 years, having gradually worse and worse sleep. I have him using an Airsense 10 Autoset, now, and he's been getting AHI's around 35, mostly consisting of C...

Really, John Tesh?
I had my mom in the car with me yesterday evening, and she loves her classic hits, so we were listening to an oldies station, in the evening, which inevitably also left us exposed to John Tesh's life advice. The theme of the show last night was better sleep. They got to the topic of snoring, and why...

Re: *chortle*
And sure enough, Apnea Board is still on Facebook. It sounds like it was her personal account that got banned. Because she registered her name as Super Sleeper to satisfy some paranoia Facebook doesn't like fake names. It's not what the first reply thought about Facebook worrying about people circum...

Re: Hating My New Autosense 10
I haven't touched a button on my A10 in 6 weeks, much less in the middle of the night... I also never look at the screen. I touch the machine around every 3 days to fill the water chamber and grab my card for sleepyhead.

Small cushion wth small frame is first drop done option. But it's $109. The frame by itself is $30- and that's all she would need if she got the fit pack through DME and it would probably last a year.

Re: DME can't provide Dreamwear
Get the fit pack through your DME as often as they'll allow. Sell the extra cushions on eBay. Use the funds you secure doing that to buy a new frame on CPAP.com once a year.

Re: Inexpensive Apnea Screening Device
My thought is that pretty much everyone that thinks they may have apnea, does, and many people that don't think they have apnea also do. Therefore, I have a hard time seeing the point of a $30 device that's not diagnostic. If you suspect it enough to bother with this, just go for the home sleep stu...

Re: Need to buy CPAP machine
You can read reviews on various machines at cpap.com. I did but didn't get useful information from it other than, good machine mostly. All three of the machines I'm looking at seems to be very well rated. What 3 are you considering? We can help you from there, perhaps. They are in the original post...
