Re: No humidity mouth taping but still leaking

Also, I'm curious if folks have had success with mouth taping and keeping humidity on (though low) and getting leaks to stop? Yes. I'll try tightening up my mask. That sounds like you are going to cinch that baby down tight. That would be a mistake. Before you tighten your mask, find your model on ...

Re: Humidifier is suffocating / BiPAP

Can I turn off the heated humidifier and still get the same results? The purpose of a CPAP humidifier is to help prevent drying of the nasal airway. Some of us don't use the humidifier because our passages don't get dry. The only way you can get an answer to your question is to try it! BTW, what is...

an $8 coffee mug warmer
I know a guy who knows a guy who could send you directions on getting that rig to have coffee ready when you wake up.

I think what you have done is a bit ingenious, and that heated hose should last a long time.

Re: How to prevent rain out with external humdifier?

I have a Dreamstation and the built in humidifier is to small and always runs out of water Excess water usage can be an indication of mouth leaks, mask leaks, high-pressure needs, and high humidifier settings. What are your pressure settings? Here are a few tips to prevent rainout - https://www.cpa...

Re: Help Interpret "Events per Hour" Data

I have a Resmed Airsense 11 with nose mask. My "events per hour" is averaging about 2.0. I assume this is "mild" apnea? Am I missing something? You are doing fine as far as breathing. What is your leak level? How do you feel near bedtime? Tired but not stressed? Did you have energy during the day? ...

Re: CPAP and coughing up blood

I, too, think it's mouth breathing. The high is set to 15, and I believe that's too high. The sleep study doctor said I function well at 11 since I don't sleep on my back. I don't know how to change the pressure or even check to confirm what it is. I have to go through the company to officially adj...

Re: CPAP and coughing up blood

I"m about to go to Urgent Care with a sample of the bloody mucus and ask to be checked for cancer. That should get something to happen. It's good you are seeking medical testing. My mouth is extremely dry when using the AirSense 11 and I've adjusted the humidity with no relief. I am using a full ta...

reflux at night
Are you aware that untreated OSA is a common cause of reflux? During the struggle to breathe, stomach contents may be expelled into the esophagus or even into the mouth in the worst cases.

Re: Best pillow for side sleeper

I just use a regular pillow. Make sure it's of a height so that your neck is straight with your spine. The neck should not be tilted to either side. Here are some more tips: Lie on your side with your head on the pillow. Ensure your chin and neck are aligned in the center of your shoulders, and your...
