Re: Buying a Full Face Mask...
Here is what happened when I tried the nasal mask at titration. I found that after 15 or 20 minutes I simply could not pass any air through my nose. I got congested to the point it was like someone had stuck cotton up my nose. I called a halt to things, pulled it off and immediately began to move ai...

Re: Another newbie with "issues"!
Your machine is exactly what I use.
Couple of questions. What is your leak rate average showing?
How do you feel?
I see Hawthorne has posted how to modify your averages.

Re: Buying a Full Face Mask...
My DME told me I could keep exchanging masks if I had problems for 60 days. Have you checked to see if you can exchange?? What is it about the nasal mask that is the problem? I had awful issues with nasal mask at titration and going to a full face wouldn't have solved my issues so I opted for the na...

Re: Another newbie with "issues"!
Could you post your machine and mask in your profile so we can see what you are using? 7 day average sounds like Respironics. Those averages can be misleading at times. Did you happen to reset the values to zero so you could see exactly what happened last night without factoring in the other nights....

Re: Swift LT for Her ... Problems ... Comments?
I only had a little whistle once and it was easily silenced by repositioning the pillows. First started with the Small size but after a few nights with a little leak I changed to the Xtra Small and leak improved greatly. I love the Swift LT for Her. I went home from titration study with the Optilife...

Re: Newbie report on Encore software findings
And the saga continues for those that like to follow other people's experiments and results. I know I do. Wedge pillow dismal failure at this point to prevent rollover onto back. It slid out of the way. I will try to find some way to stablize it. Ambien allowed me to sleep soundly last night. Moveme...

Re: Sleep aids and fragmented sleep patterns
Tiny update: I found a suitable inexpensive wedge pillow that will fit along my spine and hopefully decrease my rolling over onto my back some. Found out today that my truck needs $400 worth of work done on it, truck insurance is due and no money at all left over to even consider a memory foam toppe...

Re: hi i'm new :)
Welcome Danibm, I am new also so probably all I can offer is moral support but I do have plenty of it and an little extra positive attitude I can toss your way if need be. On one hand I wasn't all that thrilled with being hooked up to a machine at night for the rest of my life but on the other hand ...

Re: Sleep aids and fragmented sleep patterns
To Danibm: When you have time start a new thread and tell us a bit about yourself. Doesn't have to be a whole novel like I tend to write. Why were you told to use a mask? Why now are you using sleeping meds instead of the mask? Did you have a sleep study? Stuff like that. Gives everyone an idea what...

Re: Sleep aids and fragmented sleep patterns
i love your attitude, i wish i shared it. right now i am afraid to try the mask again, i never got as far as tryin to tape with the nasal pillow type mask - i heard taping was dangerous? i may have to try it, or try something like a pain patch or pill or something so i can sleep with the mask. i am...

Re: low O2 and high pulse rates
From Ozij links I spotted this and read it. Couple of Case questions regarding OSA, CPAP, leaks and a return of symptoms. Sort of explains with graphs how averages might look okay but someone still feels like no improvement or if they have backslid. http://www.thoracic.org/sections/education/sleep-f...

Re: Sleep aids and fragmented sleep patterns
To Riverdreamer: I will see if I can sweet talk my mother out of one of her Lidocaine patches. She uses them on her feet. OMG they are so expensive though. Most of my pain is in the SI area, one patch would take care of it. Will let you know. To danib: I understand the neck pain from masks that are ...

Re: Sleep aids and fragmented sleep patterns
To Riverdreamer: I took Soma for probably 15 years after the accident which broke all my bones. It did very well at night, with no daytime hangovers, initially but became rather ineffective or so I thought because about the time I complained about it not working well was when my BP started to rise a...

http://www.1800wheelchair.com/asp/view-product.asp?product_id=2334 I think a pillow along the lines of the one above might be worth looking at. Way too much money for that particular one but it is all I could find right now for an example. When I was an x-ray tech we used something very similar whe...
