I wash and moisturize, but not just before bed. Then, just before masking up, I use a soft cloth to wipe away any surface oils or excess moisturizer. It makes cleaning the mask and straps easier.

Sleepyhead has my machine as: Auto CPAP. Dreammapper has it listed as : Auto CPAP with A-Flex. I thought an "auto" meant that there was adjustments in pressure that adjusted to breathing events. Like the OP, I was a little disappointed to discover that second exhalation port on the front of the nosepiece cushion that may give the impression there's a leak.
