I diagnosed myself. After too many years of restless and unrestful sleep, daytime sleepiness, and just general tiredness, I asked my GP whether I could have sleep apnea. He looked at me, paused for a moment and said that it's possible, and he gave me a referal for a sleep study. He also gave me a fu...

Hose_Head Asked: For the Respironics M Series Machine, how easy, or difficult is it to remove the integrated humidifier each time you come home, or to reinstall it each time you go travelling? n How does this compare to the S8's easy of changeover from integrated to external HH? Wulfman Responded: T...

On page 5, in one of my posts, I mentioned that Respironics had redesigned the HH tank for the M Series. Here's a link to some pictures of the new design. http://s249.photobucket.com/albums/gg210/akcpapguy/ If it was me and I was going to HAVE to buy an M Series machine, I'd probably opt for the HC...

Many thanks to all who replied. What I conclude from the replies is that these two CPAPs are either equal in noise quality or that there may be a slight advantage for the Respironics blower. This means that other factors likely will play a bigger role in my decision to buy one or the other of these ...

Thank you for your reply! Wow. My experience with the M Series Pro is that I could hear it breathing in and out with me, even over the noise of my original, cheapo mask. I was a little like having a second heavy-breather in the room! Not really bothersome, but I see no reason why the blower should m...

Resmed S8 Elite vs Respironics M Series Pro - Noise levels

Does anyone have any head-to-head experience with these two CPAPS? I'm about to purchase my first CPAP and I'd like feedback as to which of these units is quieter. I have about a months experience with the M-Series Pro (DME loaner) but no experience with the Elite. I suspect the answer would be a no...

Re: MAP not as big a deal as you think

One thing to keep in mind is that Respironics and Resmed have a corner on the market for relief of exhalation pressure ( CFLEX / EPR). For many, this feature offers an immense improvement to CPAP comfort. But users have no alternatives to buying from Respironics/Resmed if they want this technology. ...

OMIGOSH... I better clean more often!

It occurs to me that I might also comment on another part of the reference from Fisher & Paykel cited by Wulfman from http://www.talkaboutsleep.com/sleep-disorders/archives/Snoring_apnea_cpaphumid9.htm Q. Is it possible for a patient to catch an infection from a humidifier? A. The environment in th...
