Re: New product watch. LUMIN SANITIZER.

Lots of unnecessary things, and many stupid ones, are "frequently recommended". I never suggested that something being frequently recommended must be correct. Nor do I care if anyone else believes it or washes their anything. My point was that given that "forum veterans" are well aware that somethi...

Re: New product watch. LUMIN SANITIZER.

It's funny though...it's almost always the newbies that try extra hard to change the thinking of the forum veterans. It seems exactly the opposite to me. I am a newbie, and I couldn't care less whether the forum veterans wash their CPAP stuff, brush their teeth, or wipe their behinds after using th...

I would think it would be needed less often. Not sure how often though. Maybe once a month?

Re: New product watch. LUMIN SANITIZER.

On the other hand... here's what looks like *more* credible data... None of those studies present data to support a conclusion that hose washing isn't needed. They are much more limited in scope and application than that. In fact, the first study cites two references which do recommend hose washing...

Have you had a medical evaluation including blood tests like thyroid, CBC, liver, kidney, etc?

Re: New product watch. LUMIN SANITIZER.

I'm content to continue to wash my hoses and buy new ones periodically. -I think it's highly unlikely all of these places (Mayo clinic, etc) are part of some conspiracy to sell hoses. Who profits from me rinsing my hose? Not the Mayo Clinic. Not Respironics either from what I can tell.

Re: Respironics DreamWear Gel Nasal pillow mask review thread

Right now the DreamWear Gel Pillows is my favorite mask. I only wish it would extend a bit further into my nostrils like the Resmed P10 does. The DreamWear Gel Pillows are sometimes nudged a bit out of my nostrils during sleep, and the leak wakes me up since I'm a very light sleeper. The P10 stays p...

Re: New product watch. LUMIN SANITIZER.

Again, why are you WASHING the inside of your hose? As I mentioned, I read on multiple sites including Respironics' site and Mayo Clinic that it is recommended to do so. I didn't just make it up on my own. The minute amount of moisture blown into the hose from the humidifier will air dry after the ...

Re: New product watch. LUMIN SANITIZER.

Ha :). After I rinse my tube, I hang it for 30 min and then attach it and run the machine at max pressure with no water in the humidifier for a couple hours. It dries right out. Even without rinsing it, the moisture from the humidifier or your breath could be enough to grow mold, no? I admit to bein...

in my hose despite rinsing with hot soapy water Why are you washing the inside of your hose? I've read in a number of places that it is a recommended practice. Re: New product watch. LUMIN SANITIZER.

It's being announced on our sponsors' web site. Looks like a new way to clean our equipment. Anyone have access to this yet? What is your concern about your current cleaning process? My concern about my current cleaning process is that I'm not sure if mold could grow in my hose despite rinsing with...

I take it 1-2 times a week and have been doing so for a few years. It continues to be helpful for me. I hope you find a solution!

Re: One year in and I still feel horrible

Every doctor I've ever spoken with has uniformly said to use benadryl sparingly and that tolerance can indeed develop. Tolerance to sedating effect does occur with antihistamines like Benadryl, but dependence is much less of an issue with antihistamines than it is for benzodiazepines like clonazepa...

Re: One year in and I still feel horrible

I agree with benadryl -- when I do take it, I sleep wonderfully. There are a few things that help me like that -- benadryl and klonopin primarily, and ambien to a lesser extent. But I don't want to take them too often for fear of building up a tolerance so they no longer work. Is there a specific r...
