Re: sleep study with CPAP

I am new to this, so I can only give you my experience. I just had my sleep study last month (without machine and with machine, same night). My index was 78.9. Also severe. With my sleep study, they had me using a machine that either went up automatically, or they could adjust it. I don't know how i...

Re: As goes your weight so goes your pressure needs?

I doubt it. I'm considered obese and my pressure is only seven. I also get a kick out of wearing a size small mask since that is the only time I ever wear a size small. I had a laugh about that myself this past Monday. I have a small mask and medium headgear. I haven't worn a medium anything in pro...

Re: Why S9 AutoSet so Popular vs. S9 Elite (Resmed)?

From reading this discussion, I must consider myself fortunate. My primary doctor referred me to a sleep lab and followup doctor. I got to see the summary of results from the sleep doctor to my primary doctor 2 days before my followup as I already had an appointment scheduled. The summary already st...

Re: new cpap user

ResMed machines do start a new day and new tracking period at noon and when you look at the onscreen data..it will change to a new day at noon...so if you sleep till 12:30 PM...you have 0.5 hour showing. No big deal. It all shows in the software. There is a way to go back to a previous session in t...

Re: new cpap user

zoocrewphoto, nice looking cat. Welcome to the forum. You have gotten good advice- read, read, read. Be careful about covering the machine with a towel- it may be fine, I understand you don't want the cat to mess it up. The machine has to have good airflow around it to work properly. Your towel may...

Re: Are my stats ok? Seeing the therapist tomorrow

Is there a way to change the machine so that a reported day is not noon to noon? I am a severe night owl and sleep past noon almost every day. If I can't change the "date" change time, then I will have to change the time setting of the machine which will then incorrectly report all my times. That me...

Re: new cpap user

It took me awhile, but I got Rescan up and running, and it finally generated a report for me. It shows I have used it for a total of 10 hours and 4 minutes, which is correct. I have no idea why the screen on the actual machine told me 0.6 hours for last time and 0/1 days for greater than 4 hours. It...

Re: new cpap user

When I took the nap, it did show 1.5 hours. And the last time, after the interuption, was a little over 5 1/2 hours. So, it should have shown something. I can't imagine how it came up with 0.6 hours. I'm going to try and get the software up and running. My computer deleted my volume icon yesterday, ...

Re: new cpap user

Thank you for the replies. I'm really glad to find this forum. I was actually doing a search on google about adapting a night stand into a cpap holder. I am hoping to find a small night stand type piece of furniture that will fit under the desk that is already next to my bed. There is space there, a...

Re: Newbie: How do you know if DME is good

Have you asked anybody you know if they know anybody with sleep apnea? I am really surprised to find out that a lot of people I know have it. Most are not local, but my mom is. She doesn't use her equipment as often as she should, and I know that the reasons are mainly her own fault. She has been ha...

Re: S9 humidifier tanks - what's the scoop?

. They also gave me another tank which has a stainless steel base which only requires tap water and can be place in the dishwasher machine. You should be using distilled water in both units. You can get a serious respiratory infection from breathing the things floating around in ordinary tap water....

new cpap user

HI, I am new to cpap. I Have known for years that I have sleep apnea. Family and friends who have shared hotel rooms with me have told me that I snore badly, and that I sound scary. My mom has had a cpap machine for almost 20 years. I listened to her experiences with the sleep lab, and I watched her...
