Re: Machines Don't Last Forever
5 years is a common interval for replacement of a CPAP machine by insurance or Medicare in the US. My first machine, a PR System One, stopped working a few months after 5 years of use. It would still blow air, but I could no longer adjust the controls, get any display information, or turn it on or o...

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry
Here is the most recent Sleepyhead data: http://i.imgur.com/yi14fwh.png I probably refilled or topped off the tank at each point where there was a break. The longest period of sleep was a little over 6 hours. The water runs out before 6 hours routinely since the heat has been on. APAP pressure is ru...

Re: Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry
Yes, I am filling the tank a little above the maximum line. I have always had very dry air once the heat comes on and the furnace humidifier doesn't seem to help much. During the summer, when I turned the house humidification to zero when the central air was on, I didn't have this problem. Winter at...

Re: Humidifier RESMED AIRSENSE 10 For Her question
Does that mean if I use my old philips hose, I wont get any humidity effect at all? Or I will get some but probably not the same if I had the climateline? You should get humidification using the old Phillips hose. The A10 has a choice for Slimline or standard hose (as well as the setup for a heated...

Airsense 10 Humidifier Tank Running Dry
I am using the Airsense 10 for Her with a slimline hose and humidity set at 5. The humidifier tank is running dry every night after a few hours. When I get up for a bathroom break, I let it cool down, then refill it. Is there any danger to breathing CPAP air coming from a dry humidifier tank? I woul...

Re: System one 60 CPAP (with APAP trial?)
I would try to exchange the machine for one that is permanently APAP-capable, even if you find a fixed pressure works ok for now. It would be helpful if yu can get a d dr. to write a prescription stating a range of pressures rather than a constant pressure, so that the DME would have to provide an A...

Re: Vinegar and Water
if you are insured then you'll get a new mask every month or so and a new tank every 6 months. I wish this was true, although most of us don't need a new mask every month. My experience is that nasal pillows may be paid for every month, headgear (not an entirely new mask!!) and a new humidifier wat...

Re: CPAP software is designed to wake me up
Do you have ramp set on your machine? If you do, you may want to shut it off, as it starts you out at a lower pressure, then after the time set for ramp, goes to the full pressure. That is not correct. The pressure gradually rises until it is at the set therapy pressure at the end of the set ramp p...

Re: Question for Airsense 10 AutoSet For Her Users
I use the A10 for Her on regular Auto mode and am happy enough with that not to change. It's good to have the option but evidently no one reading this has experimented it and analyzed their experience in SH.

Re: CPAP software is designed to wake me up
The pressure pulses (puffs) will happen no matter what mode of operation. CPAP or APAP or APAP to mimic cpap with min to equal max. Their function is to help the machine distinguish between the Central/Clear Airway events so that it knows what category to put the reduction of air flow or cessation ...

How old is your S9? You may need a new machine. Miy PR machine started croaking after about 5 years and my treatment suffered until I realized it and got a new APAP machine. Or, you may need a new or different mask. My therapy suffered when I wore an P10 mask for 1.5 years without changing nasal pil...

Re: More expensive with insurance? WHAT?!
Does anybody know if a 20% co-pay is based on the billed amount or the insurance's allowable amount? It depends. If your insurance plan prohibits "balance billing," then it is 20% of the insurance allowable amount. If the insurance plan does not prohibit balance billing, you could end up having to ...

Resmed Airsence 10 vs PR System One REMStar by Phillips??? Which is a better choice? I have used both. I used the PR System One for 5.5 years. In July, I started using an Airsense 10 For Her. Personally, I think I am getting better therapy with the A10. However, there is no substantial, major diffe...

Re: Help! Airsense autoset stuck at 6!
It's early in the morning and my machine which is set at 6-20 won't go above 6! I feel like I am starving for air!!! I have been using this apap machine every single night since mid-August. Any idea on how to reboot it to get it to work again? I've had 3 hours of sleep and am miserable. I use a new...
