Re: Nasal pillows for side sleepers?

MMMMMMMMMMMM! I had a great night! I padded the right side of the headgear with a microfiber cloth because I just knew it was going to dig in when I slept on that side, and with the padding it was just perfect. The pillows were comfy even at my highest pressure, albeit slightly noisy. No discernible...

Re: Tooth Decay

I was a big mouth breather before CPAP and had a lot of tartar build up, especially on the back of my lower front teeth. I get cleanings every 3 months because of this. I have surprised myself by being able to keep my mouth closed using a nasal mask with no leaks--all I do is put a little bit of Cha...

Re: Nasal pillows for side sleepers?

Thanks, the Swift for Her didn't come with the headgear covers (maybe because it's a sample) but I'll check in with my sleep lab tomorrow to see if they have them. Hmmm, I don't see them on the CPAP.COM website either. I have the PR S1 APAP, and my AHI's have been remarkably low (0.3) so it will be ...

Re: Nasal pillows for side sleepers?

My sleep lab had a Swift for Her for me to try that I picked up this afternoon. So far I've only set it up and tried it for about 10 minutes but I AM impressed. It seems so light and comfortable and I love the thing that attaches the hose to the head strap so I will be able to turn and move without ...

Re: Home testing Kit

All it really does is determine if you are having apnias or not. If you are you still need an overnight sleep study to determine the pressure you need and to see your blood oxygen levels whiile you sleep. I was sent home with a machine that included an oximeter and gave very detailed readings. I ca...

Re: ARRGH!!!!!!!!

When you complain, make sure you complain to your union. If that's the only DME provider they contract with, they need to know what lousy service you are getting from them, so that when that contract comes up for renewal they might consider dropping them. It's important to complain. You are educated...

Re: Nasal pillows for side sleepers?

Thank you all for the responses. And I'd love to hear more. The only thing that worries me is the sensitivity of my skin around the nostrils. If I use regular tissues during a cold it gets red and raw and I get sores. I have to use lotion tissues and put vaseline on my nose and upper lip (yes, I kno...

Nasal pillows for side sleepers?

I sleep almost exclusively on my right side, and every mask I've tried pushes into the side of my nose even when I start out with the mask and my nose totally hanging off the edge of the pillow. I have a very sore nose I haven't been that interested in nasal pillows, but I'm getting desparate, now. ...

My poor, sore nose! Please Help.

I am so frustrated with my poor, sore nose. 1. I am a side sleeper. I always sleep on my right side, and no matter what I do, the mask gets pushed into the side of my nose. Even masks that have nothing hard that could possibly touch my nose dig in and hurt a LOT. I try to "hang" the front part of my...

Humidifier Question

I was titrated at home with a trial Respironics System One Aflex, but it did not have a humidifier. I finally received my own machine yesterday, the exact same machine but with the humidifier (yay!). I was amazed at how much quieter my machine is. I could barely hear it myself, and my husband (who i...

Re: newbie w/PR system one Auto "is there data in my machine?"

Elena, Search You Tube for "CPAP Choice System One" and you will find some great information on how your machine works and how to use it. There is a 3 part overview of the machine and a 4 part menus review. After watching this you will be an expert in how your machine works and how to read and under...

Re: OT: tongue problems (stress? nutrition? ??)

I'll vouch for the geographic tongue theory IF a MEDICAL DOCTOR and/or dentist has ruled out other causes. I have a geographic tongue. It appears white and has all sorts of "geography" on it--people often think I have some dreaded oral disease. But it doesn't bother me most of the time. My youngest ...

Re: Mirage Activa?

I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Activa LT--today perhaps???? I'm a side sleeper and everything else is leaking like crazy on me. I hope my bottom pressure of 7 is enough to make it work--my high pressure is only 12. He had a sleep study done at the local hospital and they lost the darned th...
