Re: Failure to See Results Despite CPAP Compliance

As you can see, Dan, you have a lot of well-intentioned and highly informed people here willing to help you. It must be clear to all of us that it won't be one thing, but several ganging up on you at once. We can help with PAP therapy, but it may not be enough. How is your cardio fitness? How is you...

Re: Where do you put your machine?

My manual (I read manuals. Whether for complicated cameras, wearable tech devices, or decoders for my sound-emitting model trains and their control systems...I read 'em. Amazing what them engineers try to tell us about our investments!) advised me to place my machine close by, on a clean, uncluttere...

Re: My worse symptoms... can anyone relate?

To the OP, running is not for everyone. It can be extremely effective and efficient if weight loss is the goal, but let's face it...it can be a real thud if you like thinking about things, discussing them, or if you like variety. I am a bit of a dullard, so I just reduce my already diminished cognit...

Re: Severe sleep apnea recovery

A quick glance down the listed thread headings for the last six or seven pages, or a search here, will reveal that brain fog, grogginess, or sluggishness, seems to affect people even more than before they started (apparently) successful PAP therapy. Nobody seems to have a good handle on it, but the ...

Re: CPAP and Cold Weather Camping

If the machine can work well in those conditions, I don't see a problem. I have slept in a sleeping bag at -30 deg C in Manitoba, Canada. That was 20 years ago, pre-diagnosis. Two problems...cold feet and condensation inside the mask and it's outlet orifices...those tiny apertures will freeze over i...

Re: My worse symptoms... can anyone relate?

Thank you Julie... I have been to ENTs, otorolagysts, optometrists. I have done all kinds of blood tests, plus a brain MRI. I have continued monitoring my blood pressure and it always comes up normal. I take ... and magnesium every night before bed. Why magnesium? I never, ever, take supplements of...

Re: CA Campgrounds with Electricity

Woodall's and also Triple A has travel booklets with accommodation and restaurants lists, and I believe they have a camping listing in there as well. Maybe contact the CA camping association, if there is one, or even local chambers of commerce.

Re: Using rubber O ring to fix pillow mask seal

My compliments to the OP. Clever, and creative. I do have a somewhat related question, though...it appears as if the distant nose insert is substantially larger in diameter at the orifice's upper edge than is the one closer...with the O ring. Is this an artefact of the imaging process or a reality? ...

Re: Cpap and essential oil

I can't be certain it is so, but my expectation would be that the filter's life would be shortened if exposed to constant aerosols of oils, essential or otherwise. In fact, I would be interested in seeing the surfaces of the impeller blades after a few weeks of this type of therapy. I doubt they'd b...

Re: Does cpap therapy help with depression?

One's endocrine system is meant to be largely in balance, with some variance due to stressors and disease (happenstance). When a person becomes stressed chronically and cannot get on top of the matter, the body begins to break down in various ways. It can't stand the elevated levels of corticosteroi...

Somehow I missed seeing your initial post, but I like what I see. I think most of us who hang out here regularly like to be on top of things and wrestling them into submission. You'll fit right in. :D I wish you success, whatever that is to be, either learning that your problems aren't related to ap...

Re: Sleep but no rest

I think the key lies in what kteague says above about the stages of sleep. It would help if you had access to a monitor that records the stages of deep sleep, maybe some wearable tech if you can afford it, or press unused items into service once again. I have an app on my phone which reads the senso...

Re: red marks on the nose...use a tiny bandage?

Only possible cures are to try increased PAP pressure to help lift the mask somewhat ( not advised unless it actually improves results), different fit size, different style mask altogether, different strap/headgear retentive effort, different strap/headgear adjustment for position, or a diffusing ap...

Re: Morning burping

Yup, it's a fact of life. I can live with it, but it's difficult to express stomach gas while the PAP machine is in use and my mouth is sealed (I'm a mouth breather when I sleep). So, I have to do that when I rise each morning.
