Re: Amara View Mask - anyone like it?

I have a friend who uses the Amara View and loves it. So when I got my first mask, I got a View also. After three days, I took it back and demanded a different mask. Then I found a link to a blog post on how to adjust a mask for proper fit, and that answered a lot of my problems! A few weeks ago, my...

Re: CPAP seems successful, but still having sleeping issues

CPAP treats apnea, not sleep. Apnea definitely affects sleep, but it may not be the only thing affecting your sleep. In fact, correcting the apnea issue will allow other issues to come to light. I would recommend finding a sleep specialist that looks at other things besides breathing. You mention no...

Re: STIFF BACK AFTER SLEEPING W/ CPAP

Hi, Ann. Welcome to the forums. We encourage you to register and add your equipment. It helps us to know you and help you better. I'm about 3 months into my CPAP therapy and went to the physical therapist yesterday for this very issue. In my case, I know for a fact that it's because I will sleep on ...

I recommend the book "The Sleep Solution" by Dr. W. Chris Winter.
He's got a lot of good info on fatigue vs sleepiness.

Re: I wake 3-5 times per night. Why?

I'd vote with palerider and robysue - don't worry too much about them unless there's like pain or such involved. It can take much longer than 1 1/2 months for your mind and body to adjust to sleeping with a hurricane up your nose and a mask eating your face all night. But eventually, yes - it will a...

Re: Tech. help needed for computer/SD card

I use one of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0046TJG1U

Not a problem to pull the card from the machine.
Data uploads to Sleepyhead in seconds.
And about 1/10 the cost.

Re: Cloth masks?

Using CPAP has not delivered any relief from fatigue. I still wake up feeling like I could continue asleep for half the day. Fatigue is a lack of energy, and is caused by many things that sleep will not fix. CPAP will not fix all sleep problems, and sleep does not fix all fatigue problems. Sometime...

One other item: adjust the mask while laying down. Your face and neck muscles, etc, take on completely different contours from standing to laying.

Re: Advice for me as I try Amara View?

First the air vents constantly blew air into my eyes giving me puffy eyes in the morning. Would an eye mask help with that? Cheaper than a new CPAP mask. Secondly it caused me strong sinus pressure so I had a headache all day. Is this particular mask *causing* the sinus pressure? Or might you have ...

Re: F 10 Advice Needed

I use the F10 with a Pad A Cheek cover. I just changed the cushion for the first time (only about 3 months into this), and it seems to seal better. What really helped me starting out was a blog article "Taming the Mirage Quattro" ( http://tinyurl.com/2ft3lh8 ) by Janknitz (sp??). I was tightening th...

Re: Now Hating the Airfit F20

What about a hybrid mask like this one:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/RespCa ... -Mask.html
It combines nasal pillows with an over-the-mouth mask.
Could that give you the best of both?

Sleep study vs personal sleep monitors

One doctor did it:

I did note that this was done in 2014, so maybe things have changed.
Maybe - but maybe not.

Re: Newbie Struggling

I am also a newbie (almost here months into it), so I don't have a whole lot to add. I have a lot of CA when I fall asleep which is ok but once I'm asleep it's fine. In my case, my machine records CAs when I'm doing things like adjusting my pillow, trying to unwrap my hose from my head, attempting t...

Good sleep info book so far

Just picked up a book from the library, and so far. "The Sleep Solution" by Dr. W. Chris Winter. He's a neurologist by training and a sleep researcher/doctor by specialty. Written in a very engaging style, it's very informative as well.

Re: Advice for me as I try Amara View?

I currently use the F10 full face. Next month, tho, I'm switching to the View. I also hate having the piece over the bridge of my nose. I'm also a side-sleeper. I borrowed a View from my DME and tried it for a week. What helped me was spending 20-30 minutes adjusting the straps with my machine set t...
