Re: New Initiative from American Sleep Apnea Association

And, unlike the ASAA, we serve the WORLD-WIDE Internet, not just the US portion of CPAPers. Indeed. But we are a relatively loose band of users providing support to each other (and that is very valuable), whereas ASAA is an organized body with a mission to support patients and to lobby on their beh...

Re: New Initiative from American Sleep Apnea Association

So how do we make sure Pugsy gets to speak there? First, I think we need to figure out how she gets there, to speak--so to speak! (sorry, I'm a bit giddy today) Pugsy, is this something you would consider participating in? Your experience and knowledge would be an asset to the discussions, I'm sure...

New Initiative from American Sleep Apnea Association

". . .the American Sleep Apnea Association (ASAA) is excited to announce the AWAKE Sleep Apnea initiative, an education and empowerment initiative that includes several opportunities for sleep apnea patients, family members, and caregivers to help inform researchers, regulators, and life science com...

Re: Getting used to a new mask...Wisp

I found it took quite a bit of fiddling with the straps to get a balanced fit on my Wisp. Getting an even balance of the tension among the 4 straps was the key to reducing leaks, and not binding it too tight to the face, of course. Perseverance paid off though, and I am very happy with it. I don't u...

Re: sleepyhead news

Hi, Jedimark,

Thank you for all your work producing and updating Sleepyhead. I use it, and it has helped me understand more clearly what is going on with my cpap treatment.

regards,
Jean

Re: Not adjusting well

Your equipment profile shows a Dreamstation 200 (single pressure) CPAP, but your comment says it's a 500 (auto adjusting) APAP unit, so that's all a little confusing. Is the APAP set to Fixed mode? In either case, your settings may not be optimized for your treatment. Please provide further specific...

Re: Should be sleeping, but ...

I don't feel I can phone back a week later, admit that I'm not using the mask after all that, and then ask for another piece of equipment! :? You wouldn't necessarily have to talk about the mask when you phone back; say that you were distracted by all the masks at the fitting, and forgot to ask for...

Re: Concerning insurance and formal determination of CPAP non compliance

User CPAPtalk said "I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH NOR DO I REPRESENT THE FORUM CPAPtalk IN ANY WAY" Then please don't use the forum name as your own. What you perceive as a clever entitlement is being received here as disrespectful to the forum owner, not to mention confusing to other users. I, too, thou...

Don't know if you can tweet your machine, but would certainly like to hear what it sounds like if it is indeed possible. You can certainly tweak your machine. Re: Could do with a bit of moral support/commiseration

There are a lot of bits, pieces, and moving parts in getting properly set up and comfortable with CPAP. It's an ongoing process, and I see you are persisting with problem-solving. Good on you!

Keep on keeping on,
