Ahhh...that one. I was wondering if that one was the one I sent.

It can be opened but it's a big PITA....there's a you tube somewhere showing how. I have done it but it takes a lot of force to pry those black teeth thingies apart.

You will be better off just getting a new water chamber that has the regular tabs that just fold up or down to open or close.

EBay, Amazon or cpap.com

I never bothered... if you want to rinse it out, go ahead.. pour out the water... then pour in some fresh for the next night, and you're done.

the thing is there is always moisture in there....I hooked it up to the cpap and turned on the blower for a bit.

There's this ledge that seems to collect moisture....above the waterline.

That style water chamber was the first type that was used with the S9 was first released.
People bitched about it and it wasn't long before they came out with the other kind that is easier to clean/dry.

I sent that one to you because it was the least used of the ones I had. It was essentially brand new even if an older style.
And remember originally we were looking at a loaner situation anyway.

FWIW....I top off my water chamber nightly...Maybe once every couple of months I might dump it and wash it and let it air dry.
But if you feel better being able to take it apart and for sure get it totally dry then go ahead and just get one of the other chambers.
Peace of mind is worth a lot.

It looks like your hypopnea actually occurred a little earlier.

Measure the positive flow rate hump at 02:03:13 and compare that to the hump at 02:03:19. Also compare the hump at 02:03:19 with the hump at 02:03:27. You are looking for a 30% (or 50%) increase in flow at the later hump.

For example if the hump at 02:03:19 is something like 17 and the hump at 02:03:27 is something like 37 you end up with 37/17 = 2.17 which is larger than 1.3 (or 1.5). That indicates that it is real.

ok...at quick glance they waves look pretty similar....I have difficulty reading the charts....

it made sense to break it down like you did though.

I am wondering if setting the EPAP a bit higher would help a little to get it to 0.

or, should I be ok with 1.9 that's what it was this morning. I am not sleepy at all during the day, so I'm pretty sure the s9 is working for me :) :)

My general rule of thumb is that "under 2 is ok"... generally.

Chasing zero isn't wise though.

I am in shock. The DME person just called and said my insurance had approved an ASV machine.

I didn't even know they were still DOING anything about this...I thought they'd dropped it.

I am so happy though. I TOLD them I needed it....and evidently, they agreed :D :D :D :D :D
