Have been plagued by large leaks since starting APAP in Feb 2020.
Ruled out leaks from mask by wearing SomniFix strip on a single night and had leak rate of zero. Best solution if used nightly but warning from my sleep doc and wife persuaded me not.
Mixed results with chin straps. Ruby style seemed better of the lot but not comfortable in heat and lost its tightness after washing. Simple single-band style were more comfortable but these tended to slip off of my head.
Then threw in the towel and resorted to Dreamwear FFM. But one night of use was torturous - felt like the dark blob from Outer Limits was over my mouth (that episode caused me nightmares as a child).
Finally tried the soft cervical collar ($12 at Walgreens) as suggested by various forum members. Although slight discomfort on back of neck, works like a charm. AHI last night was 0.3 with leak rate of 8L/min.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

by gum, we may be a cantankerous, squabbling and mean spirited bunch, BUT we do get the job done.ElusiveSleep wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 7:44 am

Personally, I resent being called "cantankerous, squabbling and mean spirited". I can't deny being those things sometimes, but I can still resent it. Not only that, but my wife has made it quite clear that she is the only one who is allowed to point out my faults.

Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.
