OP still hasn't been back since posting original post.
Maybe forgot. Maybe can't find the forum. Who knows..
They will have received an email that the post was approved and showed up on the forum.
Maybe they figured out the answer to their question already and don't need to come back.

One does not have to sign in or to use the same device from the same location in order to read threads, though, right?

Correct. One does not have to log in to read anything here. To post yes...to read no.
OP is a quadriplegic though...device and location is probably going to be restricted.
But it wouldn't be impossible for the OP to be following all this mess and us not know it. If that is the case then I would assume no questions though and they figured it out as to what they wanted to figure out since they didn't log in to say anything or ask more questions and they got the answer(s) that were needed.

It didn't turn into a mess until the next day when it was thoroughly derailed.

I know. I just haven't seen a need to clean the mess up without proof the OP is even needing it cleaned up.

I do think I will lock it though and that will stop further derailment and if the OP wants to comment he can start a new thread with any further questions that might still be unanswered.
