Adjusting For Maximum Moisture
Hello Friends
I use a Res Med Air Curve 10 ST
I'm having Dry Mouth problems leading to Tooth Decay, which might be from other factors.
However, can someone please tell me how to adjust the machine for Maximum Moisture?
Thank You

Re: Adjusting For Maximum Moisture
You don't say if you have a humidifier attached, or what kind, or anything else, or where settings are now or whether you mouth breathe, or what mask you use, or or or... so while we'd like to help, a little info would go a long way towards being able to do that.

Re: Adjusting For Maximum Moisture
Assuming you have a climateline heated hose: first, turn off the humidifier Auto mode.
Then you will have separate control of the temperature and the humidity and you can set each as high as you want.
As long as climate control is on Auto you can change nothing.

Re: Adjusting For Maximum Moisture
It is unknown to m why you have dry mouth. However, the number one cause of dry mouth in CPAPers is air passing through the mouth. With nasal masks, this can cause the loss of the therapeutic pressure and render the CPAP therapy ineffective.
Do you regularly check your leak level? Which model mask are you using?
Re: Adjusting For Maximum Moisture
And some medications can also cause the problem.

Thanx for all your replies .... (very helpful)
There are NO leaks ....
I managed to MAX the moisture level ....
I suspect my chronic sinusitis is the culprit ... (will probably require surgery)
Thanks again - Take Care

Re: Adjusting For Maximum Moisture
Are you going by Mr. Green Face on the machine's screen?
He knows nothing, zilch, about the type of mouth leaks that can dry your mouth out so badly that your tongue sticks to the roof of your mouth.
Download OSCAR, and look at your leak chart.
This is where the reply to Julie's question about the type of mask also becomes relevant.
I'm assuming (once again...) the with chronic sinusitis you may be using a full face mask.
When I use a full face mask - granted, at pressure that is not very high - my mouth only dries out badly if my mask leaks - and this is the type of leaks that does not make a red face appear on the screen.

In other words, you may be going the WRONG way with your humidity settings.
