Looking for a used card reader to buy

Post by kteague » Tue Jun 19, 2007 2:53 pm

Thought I'd at least check here rather than wait till who-knows-when to get the money to purchase one new.

Please PM me if your have a spare Mako Infineer card reader, model number DT3500 (desktop sliding, USB) for reading the Respironics Smart Card.

Thanks.

Kathy

They are only $30 delivered from HK - takes about 15 days.

2factors.com for $24 + $6 S&H = $30

Make sure you check box the cheap shipping not the $25 shipping

two-factor.com

http://www.two-factor.com/shop/index.php?productID=115

That's where I got mine. As mhacker said, it was about $30 when I bought it -- which included shipping to the U.S.
If I'm not mistaken, they only take PayPal.

There's also a U.S. store that's a little higher priced, if a person doesn't have a PayPal account and would rather use a credit card:

ResMed S9 VPAP Auto (ASV)
Humidifier: Integrated + Climate Control hose
Mask: Aeiomed Headrest (deconstructed, with homemade straps
3M painters tape over mouth

Price of new reader

Post by kteague » Tue Jun 19, 2007 3:24 pm

MHacker,

Thanks for the info on getting a new reader. I may eventually be able to go that route. I was just hoping for a savings by getting a used one. Once upon a time this would have been a nominal purchase - not these days.

Thanks again.

Kathy

Looks like theyn are out of stock at this time. Darn I always miss out. Will have to check back later. Kinda hope they will sell with something besides PayPal I let my PayPal account lapse after getting snookered to many times on e-bay.

Pay Pal is the craps, I will never let anyone attach to one of my accounts, no way no how, you know they are secure right, never have a glitch or a hacker, right.

Teach,

you need the reader to get the info to the computer where the software does the rest. I do not think that it works with a Mac, but it may. It will not work with
vista or me from microsoft.

The version is Encore Pro v1.6i. Encore Pro v1.8i is no longer available from Respironics.

Version (v1.6i) will work with any recording REMstar and M Series machines.

If you have either AFLEX or BiPAP Auto SV it won't work either, so to say it might work sometimes if you ware aluminum foil on your head and hold your lips correctly, but then only sometimes.

Need the software. It uses MS sql for the database. I do not think you can get it to run on a MAC with VM. The new OS should fix that but that is to be seen.

This is the same one the 2factors sells. A little bit more in cost than 2factors, but definitely less expensive than the Respironic's brand reader. Plus it gives another option if 2facators is out of stock, which I believe someone said they were.
