New to cpap and acid reflux ?

Post by Mdl399 » Tue Oct 25, 2016 6:28 pm

Just started cpap with humidity. Full face mask. When I woke up in the morning it was because I was about to throw up in my mask and it was all acid. Never had acid reflux in my life. Would the cpap cause this ? I read a lot of old post but I'm looking for new info. Please help and thank you.

What did you have to eat or drink the evening before?

Odd !
I am relatively NEW to CPAP too - Early Sept of this year
I had one Hell of a time adapting to the machine

I suffered severe Acid Reflux and some serious aspirations
BEFORE I was ever diagnosed with Apnea - damaged my lungs !

I have been free of Acid Reflux since I started CPAP therapy

I was told the Apnea caused my Reflux problem -
The choking for air caused the Stomach Acid to be brought UP

I will MONITOR this Thread with interest

That is different from what many others experience, myself included. I had acid reflux at least 3-4 days a week prior to Cpap. Never knew it had anything to do with Apnea. Starting immediately on Cpap it went down to maybe 2-3 times a year. I know others with similar stories. Perhaps your case was a one time fluke unrelated to Cpap?

Maybe some of the people here who have problems with their Stomach & Intestines
................ taking in a lot of AIr have a different perspective on this problem ?

& that be LSAT the team patch - The decidedly slower member
of the Clique that likes to run around here on CPAPtalk Insulting people
More guts than the Pilerider - who's still under his rock, but decidedly less brains

& just what hot air has been blown here, until now team patch ?
I have expressed an interest in a topic and given my perspective - That is allowed here is it NOT ?
... People should be allowed to do that here on CPAPtalk without being Insulted should they NOT ?
........................................... So why is it necessary to Insult me ? - So what's your problem ?

Oh ! - Its ME
& my formatting isn't it ? - I advise you to join your friend under his rock & leave me alone
least you find yourself at the bottom of a flight of WORD stairs with your buddy the Pilerider.

Why are you so weak in self-esteem & Intellect that you should feel so threatened by my formatting.

You are outrageous! That person probably was looking for help with Cpap and what does she find? Your total crap! You're trashing this forum and someone will report you. Disgusting!

I think someone has figured out how to hide multiple screen ids so they can be more of a jackass.
Does kinda make one wish that we had official moderators for situations like this though.

The Crap comes from your end Black Cat !

Help and Advice is what I came here for Cat - Help and Advice laced with a cliques ABUSE,
........... is what I have received - ABUSE simply because I express myself with formatting.
........... I have repeatedly told you to leave me alone - Yet still you people persist !

I have also made note of where other people have been Abused by certain members

Since I came here I have received repeated PERSONAL attacks from you cliquish freaks
This case in point - I speak of my experience with Acid Reflux & CPAP
& I am immediately attacked by LSAT who feels it necessary to tell me I am full of hot air
........................ No rhyme nor reason given - simply a blatant flat out irrational, personal attack

What am I to conclude, but when a person follows my posts with cheap half liners,
like - "oh snap" & "ya burnt" - but that I am enduring yet another Attack ?

I have repeatedly told you to leave me alone - So Report me and let the moderators -
Let them fairly Review the Insults I have endured

If defending myself against your Attacks is not to be tolerated - So be it

CPAPTALK has so many caring and active participants who do SO MUCH GOOD!
Your credibility, Pugsy, makes this post you wrote condemning this behavior far more valuable than an anonymous 'moderator'.

~~~and the fact that CPAPTALK is NOT moderated just really gives me hope for all humanity and the ideals of FREEDOM.
It DOES seem that it would be important for new people on the boards to know how to use the ignore / foe button.
...but I don't think most need anyone else to decide what should be moderated from them ?~~~
That is such a slippery slope.
... and so much 'dumbing down' seems to have occurred in our modern world as an unintended consequences of well intended ideas.
Our FREEDOMS are so valuable maybe we should have to suffer a little for them from time to time to protect them?
The moment people use the ignore button ... it's like they called in the help of a moderator.
( ~~~the moderator that lives inside of them )
Began XPAP May 2016. Autoset Pressure min. 8 / max 15. Ramp off. ERP set at 2. No humidity. Sleepyhead software installed and being looked at daily, though only beginning to understand the data.
