I need Help

Post by hiroller8 » Mon Nov 07, 2016 6:04 pm

I have been using a Comfort Lite 2 for years. This was perfect for me because I am a side sleeper. This mask has been discontinued and I have spent thousands of dollars on new masks. I have not found anything successful to use. I am really stressing out because nothing is working for me. The last mask I bought was a Comfort gel Blue. It is so bulky and pinches my top lip and halfway covers my eyes. It is unbearable. I also bought a Mirage Activa. Threw it in the trash can. I just want a simple mask to go over my nose. Please help me.

Yes thousands of dollars. I have bought 13 different masks since the comfortlite was discontinued. I did manage to get some nasal cushions on ebay for $30 each. I wear medium sized cusions. I just found a comfortlite mask and headgear for $350. But what's the use? I can't get any parts for it anymore. I will look at that the Airfit P10. I wish the hose came over the top of my head rather than connect directly to the mask itself. I tend to move around quiet a bit when I sleep. All I know is that I am miserable. My head is pounding and I am getting very little sleep now. Thank you for the suggestion.

Would you like nasal pillows kind masks like this:

Both pillows masks and over the nose masks come with overhead connections.

Have you looked at this mask. Respironics DreamWear?
It connects at the top of the head.
CPap.com has free return insurance available with it and if you call and ask the price it's $89...if you hate it you have 30 days to get it back to them from the time they ship it to you..They will even email you a prepaid shipping label to print off.

If using a mouth guard doesn't bother you ...this mask also attaches over the head.
Also with free return insurance.
The Tap Pap
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/tap-pa ... roved.html

Or the Breeze but the return insurance isn't free...about $15

I love this dreamWear mask.

Soft and comfortable. Haven't had it a long time so haven't any idea how often I will need to replace the parts.

Mine is used with the climate hose and I run the humidifier as well.

Every once in a while (not every night) I might roll over on the air supply tube but for the most part it is out of the way.

A little tug on it usually is all that is needed to reseat it if it slips off line at all.

It pretty much molds itself to the countour of the space below your nose and above your upper lip and leaves some flexibility to smile or talk without disrupting the seal.

Good luck to you in your search.!

I would just like to mention that a hose hanger can completely eliminate any hose problems. My previous mask, the Breeze, had the hose come in from the top of the head and I liked that aspect of it. But the AirFit P10 is a much, much better mask in every way. And having the hose hanger makes the very flexible, small hose go straight up and behind my head so that I never pull on it. Hose hangers are available on amazon for as little as $12. I bought this Amazon's Choice model and can recommend it: https://www.amazon.com/North-American-H ... 0034CHMRU/ There are fancier and more expensive ones available on cpap.com.

I wish that DMEs supplied hose hangers, humidifiers, and heated hoses with every cpap machine, but they don't. It's up to us to figure out what works best for us.

They seem to be selling this mask (or at least something called "Comfort Lite 2") at a reasonable price on this website. If they really have it, order plenty and save them.

The url that you're listing is for RETURN ASSURANCE only. The price quoted is not the price of the mask because they do not have the mask itself. They're selling parts only, namely headgear. The url to view this items is http://www.cpapsupplyusa.com/Respironic ... 3049X.aspx. Once you get there, it says parts only. Scroll down the page to the "parts button" and click on that to see the headgear. The site also lists cushion replacement but that appears to be for information only, as it appears they have none available.

To the OP, I have no experience with that type of mask, but I would also suggest a hose hanger such as yaconsult did. The particular one he suggests is one of travel hangers I've used, but for home use I prefer something a little heavier. I use the Hosebuddy myself https://www.amazon.com/Hose-Buddy-CPAP- ... B007D26Q2Y. I like the Hozer as my travel hanger but I think it would work great as a home one as well. http://thehozerinc.com/. Last but not least, I would also suggest you might want to look at the results from a search for the words hose hanger search.php?keywords=%2Bhose+hanger++ to get some other ideas such as command strips, or hair scrunchies.

Hope this helps!

-Bill

I appreciate the quick response I got from so many folks. Funny thing is that it is so difficult to find a mask that works like the old tried and true. I live in North Dakota and there isn't a lot of options to just walk into a store and try one on. What I do know is this. I do not want a mask that has a hose attached directly to it. I love the hose coming over the top of my head. I also don't want anything bulky and hard on my face. I am a side sleeper and anything large and bulky with a hard frame causes pinch points. Having said that, you guys are the best. It means a lot that I got so many responses from so many people. Thank you.
