CPAP with a perforated eardrum?

Post by Dustin587 » Tue Nov 22, 2016 5:38 pm

I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea. Treatment has been going well for about a month and I feel much better than I did before treatment. Unfortunately, I have a long history of ear problems. I found out today when I was going in to have a tube put in my ear that I have a large hole in my eardrum because of an infection last month. I am concerned that CPAP might impede my ability to heal this injury or is perhaps making it worse. I called the on-call physician, but it wasn't the doctor I seen today. He said it shouldn't be an issue.

Have any of you gone through this before? What did your doctor(s) say about the situation?
