Resmed F20 - must be popular!

Post by linuxman » Wed Jan 25, 2017 2:17 pm

I ordered an F20, and just got an email that it would be 4 weeks minimum back order. It sounds like it's quite the popular mask

there are hundreds of providers of this mask on the Internet. Why don't you indicate which provider are you talking about?

This was 1800cpap.com, but that wasn't really the point of the post. I was just saying that clearly there's high demand for it if any provider is 4 weeks out.

My mom&pop supplier just said they are 3-4 weeks out,
But Matt offered to give them a reminder call.

My DME told me the same thing...I'm waiting for a Lg. The Med I was given was too tight.

Seems to be fairly common for a newly released mask to be in short supply. The F20 hasn't been released all that long and is still fairly new to the market.
Cpap.com is currently showing the Small and Medium mask package as available to ship today but the Large isn't available yet.
I don't know about their inventory for just the replacement cushions. No way for me to check that out without going through the cart process and I didn't want to know bad enough to do that.
Usually when a mask is new to the market the replacement cushions are also in short supply.

So I don't know if it is so much the popularity of it as it might be the fact that it's just new to the market and ResMed hasn't got it pushed out to all the DMEs and online suppliers in adequate quantities.
It's really new to the market so I don't know that has been out there long enough to get established as "popular" just yet.

Never really looked at the F10 though it uses the same cushion as the Quattro Air which is what I have been using for a couple years now.

Looks like the F20 cushion goes under the chin, so a different cushion.

The Quatro Air has been so successful I'm not sure I would want to even try a new mask.

Cushions on the F20 keep tearing at the top of the nose. Manufacturer is aware. That might be why its such a long wait for them.

It doesn't go under the chin. That's been said before, don't know why. Here's the user guide: http://www.resmed.com/content/dam/resme ... er_eng.pdf
and the fitting guide: http://www.resmed.com/content/dam/resme ... er_eng.pdf

Krevlin. If you are looking at the mask placement on the manikin, it's misleading. The fit guide shows the bottom edge above the chin. http://www.resmed.com/us/dam/documents/ ... er_eng.pdf

I think you are correct. The little guy that cpap.com slapped the mask on has a head that is a bit too small for the size of mask they are using.

That is exactly what I was doing. They are not quite at the same angle but those look like the F20 is much lower on the chin or even under it.

I didn't see the PDF sizing guides before.

I use another mask which does cup the chin which I use from time to time but not often.

I might give the F20 a shot sometime in the near future.

Maybe we need to tell Carolyn He needs a mask fitting.

He does indeed.
He has a name but I forget what it is.
Also if you look closely the top of the mask is way up almost right in the eyes...that mask is way too big for the little guy's head.
These mannequin fit pictures should be taken with a grain of salt. Generic heads are used on all these masks and then with maybe one size which could be too big anyway.
When in doubt about mask fit for any mask people should always refer to the usually available online literature and/or videos put out by whomever is making the mask.

When they are readily available... where can I buy one without a prescription?

Currently using an F10 (from ebay) and would like to try a F20.

Thanks
Chris
