Moisture in Full Mouth Piece During Sleep

Why is it that I have to several times remove my Mask throughout the night to dry because of moisture - is this normal

Locate your machine (and humidifier) lower (by at least a couple of inches) than yourself and water will run back to the machine instead of into your mask.

If you are slobbering, it's because your mouth is open. I tend to do the same. If it's water, your machine's humidity setting is most likely fighting with your room humidity. How cool do you keep your bedroom? Also, is your tray dry when you wake up?

Yes it is very possible to just get moisture in the mask because our exhaled breath contains moisture and it mixes with the humidified air coming from the machine and the ambient bedroom temp causes it to cool and the moisture gets released.

Lowering the machine or hose doesn't always allow for the water to drain out of the mask due to the placement of the hole bringing the air in to the mask. If it can't drain out of the mask it has no where to go. I don't know of any mask that has the hole to the long hose in a position where the water can even reach that hole unless a person sleeps standing on their head.

The easiest way to prevent the condensation in the mask...warm up the air in the mask either by using a heated hose if your machine is heated hose capable or adding a hose cover of some sort.
Reducing the humidity setting doesn't always work...I know people not using a humidifier at all and they get condensation in the mask just from the moisture in their own exhaled breath.

I can't find it right now, but somebody rigged up a wick of sorts
that lay inside the chamber of their nasal pillows, and soaked up the rainout.
I believe that Karen at Padacheek makes liners for some nasal pillows, too.

I usually use a bit of old tee shirt under my nasal mask, the few times I forgot I found moisture in my mask the next morning. Any old thinish piece of cloth will do. Quick solution and cheap. I made several, use them once then wash the bunch before reusing.

Helps with leaks also.
