Weird sensation breathing in

Hi all! I was on here a few years ago but never got used to my machine and fell off the wagon. But I am extremely motivated to try again. Today I set up my machine and settled in for a practice and I had a weird sensation, that as soon as it happened I remembered this is what drove me nuts before. So I am wondering if anyone is familiar and might have suggestions. What happens is this: I'm breathing in and out fine (not used to it but its fine) but intermittently I get this weird "skipping" on the inhale. Almost how it would sound/feel if there was a slight clog. Then it stops until the next ti e, which theres no telling when that will be. So instead of a steady inhale, it sort of feels like iii-n-ha-llll-e. Not sure if this makes any sense, but if you have had this happen you would definitely know it.

Verify that the diameter of the hose you are using matches what the machine thinks it is using.
You will need to go into the clinical menu setup area to see this information.
In the manual is the explanation for how to get into the clinical menu setup area if you don't know how.

The above idea is a shot in the dark if you are using a non heated hose.
If you are using the ClimateLine heated hose the machine should recognize it and this wouldn't apply.

It's probably not the tubing then. Try removing filter to see if that is the issue. If you are using nasal pillows, try a different size. Work on mask adjustment; many beginners make the mask too tight, you could be collapsing the nasal pillows. Most likely you need to take the machine in to your provider and have them test it while in use.

Thank you for the replies! I will definitely check the filter. I'm not sure what to do if I need to take it to my provider. They are in Texas but I moved to NC. Hopefully, its the filter

Yes, those are my pugs. Or were. My boy (the bigger one) passed away. It was heartbreaking. But now we have our little pug, Shanti, and a scruffy rescue girl, Mika. I need to change my avatar.

Probably just start over with a new provider and new equipment, if you have insurance coverage.

If you want you can perform a basic test by shaping the hose as a manometer and filling it with some water. Run the hose down towards the floor and then up making a "U". Add some water. The level of the water will be the same in both sides of the "U" when the machine is off. When on, the water level will go down in one side and it will go up the same amount in the other. For example, if your pressure is 10cm-H2O then the difference in water levels will now be 10cm. The machine should be able to deliver this constant pressure indefinitely so the water levels should stay constant.

The difference between the two levels when the machine is running, will be 20cm, one +10cm, one -10cm.

Let's get the science right. The difference in level in my example is 10. 5cm down + 5 cm up = the applied pressure (10cm-H2O).
