travel cpap's

Post by *4408 » Mon Mar 05, 2018 12:02 pm

has anyone had a tavel cpap ( transcend or Z1 ) longer than a year? And has it held up?? I have a customer that's brought his transcend back for the second time in less than a year. I questioned him and he is using it more as a regular cpap instead of a travel ( every now and then unit.) Any suggestions??

Buy a Major Brand Full Sized XPAP, or a case of Toy XPAPS. Jim

That doesn't have anything to do with his question

Try Reading the first post, His customer that's brought his transcend back for the second time in less than a year. I questioned him, and he is using it more as a regular cpap instead of a travel ( every now and then unit.) Any suggestions?? Jim

So is he buying his customer a new machine lol? That's what your answer basically was so that's why I said what I said because that makes no sense.

OP is asking if there are other Transcend users out here who use the Transcend as a primary machine every night (not just for occasional travel use) for quite some time like a year or more and have it still work just fine or did they have problems with it when using it for prolonged periods of time.

He's not going to get many responses that meet the question's criteria here at this forum.
First of all not a large number of Transcend users here...and then even less of those using the Transcend as the primary machine long term.
Most here will be using it only short term for travel or whatever. A few may use it as primary machine but not many.
So his information pool is going to be small.

IMHO...a machine travel size or whatever...needs to be able to be used as a primary machine if that is what a person wants to use.
The fact that 2 (within a year) of the Transcend machines may have failed when used as a primary machine speaks volumes as to to the quality of the product. They should last the same number of hours as any other machine IMHO.
I wouldn't be selling any more Transcend machines if it were me doing the selling.

Never used a Transcend.

Just got a Dreamstation Go for travel. I've had it for a few months and it is AWESOME! Small and compact and works really well. It replaced my old Respironics series M machine which recently started getting wonky.

FWIW I use standard tubing and a RESMED Mirage mask with mine....the same gear that I use with my Series 60 unit.
PR System One Auto A-flex
ResMed Mirage Ultra Mask
Sleepmapper for Android
No humidifier (I take my air shaken, not stirred)

thanks all for the feedback. I have a call in to Transcend. I'm sure they will warranty it. I don't use a pap device but I agree that smaller units means less quality. I tried explaining that it's been my experience that travel units don't hold up when used daily. Just wanted to reach out to my friends here and see if there was something i'm missing.

Then why do you have equipment posted in your profile?

:-) at the time I created my profile I was helping a friend and it wouldn't let me create one without equipment

Thank you..the good eye thing is part of my job here.

Removing the equipment avoids confusion later because you never know what people will tell you in terms of advice.
We have lots of member here who don't actually use the equipment themselves from spouses to other family members to friends or even people who work in the field and like to drop by here.

Welcome to the forum.
