strange symbols

So I log on and everything from the stickys on down are in strange symbols... obviously another language ....

How did I do that and how do i Undo that ...LOL

maybe just reload yesterdays back up with a message that anything posted after the last time on the backup needs to be reposted.???

i am hoping your answer is yes other wise some spammer deserves to be tarred and feathered.....

Nope...
No need to bother to flag them either. I can easily see them.

Just continue on with business as usual and I will try to block them immediately at the member account level when they come back with a new ID.
In the mean time I will remove manually as best I can but it is a slow process. I have to manually click on the post and then delete and confirm and then go back to the board and get another one.

I have already sent messages to Bendauphinee and Carolyn. Look for new member registration to be put on hold. Obviously a big hole in security.

It's a lot of work to manually remove each post because I can't do block removals.
I will do what I can while I can though and I can spot the new stuff real fast and stop the new accounts as they post because I can block a particular user ID account quickly.

We will get it all cleaned up but it's going to take some time.
So just bear with the admins.

I don't have that power. Wish I did but I don't. All I can do is block the offender from posting again and then manually go to each fricking post and manually remove it. Takes time.

It can be done at a higher admin level though...so when Ben or Carolyn realize what has happened the ones I don't get to will leave.

I've cleaned up this wave. The post time has also been adjusted to one minute, which should slow them down a bit. I will be looking into further options to make it harder for the spammers.

Not sure if your software allows this but on my forum we had members complain about capthcas or whatever because they were color blind and our software allowed us to create custom questions and answers to prove you were spam bots.

Yikes! It was 5 pages of junk when I was on late last night. What a mess!
