Be sure that your machine is an AirSENSE Autoset,
NOT an AirSTART Auto--which is NOT the higher quality machine I would ever accept.
Both are made by ResMed, and have similar names for suspicious reasons. 8)
OH, I did my research, if it's not an Airsense then i'm gonna refuse. I know that the Airstart or whatever it is, doesn't have a dial, it's all toggle or push button.

by chance, do any of you know the medical code for the machines? Are they model or brand specific?

My prescription says Auto CPAP (HCPC E0661) Any clues as to what that means?

E0601: CPAP machine, (often incorrectly spelled "CPAC," "C-PAC" or "CPAK."). This code is used for both fixed-pressure and auto-titrating CPAP (APAP) machines.

Not only are the names similar, both machines have the same SHAPE!

Resmed appears to promote dishonesty!
The NERVE!
So, is respironics promoting dishonesty with a dreamstation auto and dreamstation brick that both look the same?

Of course! "Corporate rivals" often belly up to the same bar, chase
little white balls around the same golf courses, and keep their loot
in the same offshore banks.

And they call the Brick a PRO ... what is pro about a fixed level machine ... Same with ResMed with the name ELITE on their fixed level machine ... those are data capable but still the names are not really correct ...Sure it tricked many .. You would think they would be auto with names like that ...

Same with ResMed's Airsense 10 CPAP...There is no reason to have this model...I'm sure it was requested by DMEs for the lower cost.

DME called me yesterday evening, I get fitted and pick up machine on Monday morning....I asked the lady that called if she could tell me what the model was, she didn't know, she just repeated what I already know, cpap with a set pressure of 14cmH2O...I said, my prescrip says Auto Cpap...she replied, "correct"....so i'm still iffy that I'll get one....just gotta wait til monday.

I got all worked up for nothing....I got an auto, they said they don't give out bricks or straight cpaps anymore...not since the auto can be turned off...even with a prescribed pressure, he set it to a min and max just below and above the pressure I need. I'm happy. Got me a new Resmed Airfit N20 as well. :D
