insurance question
i was just wonder I know that my insurance company will only pay for a c-pap machine every 5 years. but I was wondering is there a such thing as accidental damage coverage that I can buy for my bi-pap in case of water damage or if something else happens to it. my first bi-pap the humidifier failed on it my second machine someone was transporting it and they forgot to empty the water chamber and as a result water got into the machine and damaged the inside of the unit and now this is my 3rd machine i am using the aircurve 10 ASV unit and a brand new one costs $4,500 dollars to replace if something happens to it thats why I am wondering if I can buy accidental damage protection on it no i did not damage my machine

Re: insurance question
Call your DME up and ask .. I know my DME offers similar for extended coverage, I'm not sure on water damage ...

Re: insurance question
Depending on what happens, where it happens, and what coverage you have your homeowner's insurance, your auto insurance, or travel insurance might cover it.

Re: insurance question
Insurance--don't do anything without it.
Homeowners, auto, business, renters.
It's always good to check on your coverage, and add riders if necessary.
Know your deductibles, and sock away some dough--just in case.

Re: insurance question
My homeowners would cover it after my $200 deductible.

Re: insurance question
My insurance will replace my machine if the doctor writes a prescription. Of course if he wrote a script last week, and writes another one this week.... they will wonder why....

Re: insurance question
Check with your homeowners or renters insurance and see what they cover. You may already have coverage or can get an inexpensive rider.
