Trouble with Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset

Post by knothead » Wed Aug 15, 2018 12:05 pm

I have been noticing my on-off feature has been kinda slow lately, well yesterday when I took off my mask the blower kept going and never shut off. I manually shut it down. So I get to work and start thinking...hummmm, maybe I just need to reset it by unplugging it. Well I did that when I got ready for bed last night and so far so good. Works like it should. Has anyone else had this problem where the auto on-off goes south??

My auto-off is all but non-functional.
I have always used the off button, but it turns on OK by itself.
OK for me--except when my shoulders were messed up. Then, I was cussing it.
I wonder if Resmed even cares that this could be a genuine problem for the disabled . . .
Especially those with a permanent disability.

Resmed, we talk about you! About what is your choice.

Yeah my auto "on" has no problem yet, it was just the auto off. Ill see what it does in the AM, maybe it's goin out...who knows. My trusty S9 auto on off still working like a trooper.. :D

If it happens again and the auto off thing doesn't work in a timely manner disconnect your mask from the hose and see if that makes a difference.
My auto on works great but my auto off doesn't work at all but that's because of the mask and pressure I use.
If I take the mask off the hose...it shuts off immediately. It's the resistance of my mask at my pressure used that is the problem.

I've found that if I place my FFM cushion down on the nightstand, machine keeps on running.

The auto off works by seeing how much the resistance drops, if you put it face down, then the pillow is creating a little back pressure. And the machine thinks it's just a really bad leak.

Design flaw.
Resmed has got some 'splainin' to do.
Or fix the problem.
At least provide an accessible option for the disabled.
It is not something I, myself have a problem with--but for the grace of God.
Others may not be so fortunate.

Yeah, this one was so simple I figured it out on my own. :) These machines are necessarily sensitive.

They're so sensitive, that when I switched to the p10, and forgot to set the mask type on the machine, it wouldn't shut off, because of the extra resistance of the pillow mask.

I know auto on/off does not work on the wife's Quattro Air if mask setting is set to full face.

I just got my ResMed Airsense 10 autoset yesterday and the technician did not turn on auto on/off as i did not think to ask for this. I found out it was no set during my usual middle of the night nature call. Apparently to turn this on or off you have to do it in the clinician menu.

I know how to access this on my S9.

How do I access the clinician mode on and Airsense 10.

Pretty much the same way but the initial menus are called something different.

well, mine is brand new, so i haven't had this problem yet. and i emphasize YET. but i had a similar problem with the resperonics. auto ON was no problem, but it didn't like auto off and refused to turn off on it's own.

fortunately, my machine is positioned so that manually turning it on or off is no big deal.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

I tried on-off feature last night after resetting, worked like it always has so maybe I laid my mask down different but I will do more troubleshooting if it happens again. A lot of good responses for me to try. Thanks...
