Power Outage Lighting

Post by Muse-Inc » Thu Sep 20, 2018 2:29 am

These are surprisingly bright. I have a set of 4 and leave one by my PC and one on nightstand shelf along with LED flashlights. Mine run on batteries. Thought you'd might like to know as cold weather is not too far away. https://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss ... NQXUB9KHJZ

LEDs are awesome!
The bullfrog and I have an assortment--he gets the biggest and brightest.
I look for design and reliability (no button cells)

I bought battery powered votive lights in the past and they did not have much light. I'll have to revisit that because I enjoy having candlelight around the holidays.

Here's what I use for power out and any other time I need a flashlight. I prefer the 2nd generation Blocklite especially in my purse since it never accidentally turns on. I bought a bunch of them and stuck velcro on the wall and on the flashlight so that there is a flashlight in every room. 9volt batteries last much longer.

Haven't used candles in 25 years - have them only in case there is an extended outage and the batteries on other things have run out. My sister, my boss and my parent's neighbor all had fires with significant damage within the same year, all from candles (and a certain level of dumb). That was the end of using candles. Not worth the risk when there are safer alternatives.

Candles and "dumb" seem to go together more these days than in the past.
Adding fragrance was possibly the most dangerous marketing action ever done.
Even Yankee Candle is offering more flame-free options lately.
Good for them.
The holidays are the worst time to have a home fire.
Imagine the guilt if a fatal fire originates with a GIFT.
Heartbreaking!
