Apex xt sense (2015) power cord - Veemont

I'm traveling from Baltimore and inadvertently forgot my power cord. From everything I've been able to read,, it's a universal cable. It comes directly from the wall, so any similar cable with matching specs would work. My Sonos speaker has a cable that fits that description. I hooked it up and notice some crackling noise from my HH. I'm happy to plug it directly into my CPAP but I'm worried I'm potentially frying it. The stock cable is thicker (think exterior extension cord. The Sonos is maybe half as thick. Is this a Vermont issue? Or, is the cable actually not universal. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
