Hello all,
I will be having brain surgery on each side of my head for a rare disease called Moyamoya. I currently use a full face mask and the straps go just above my ears and below. He stated he would like me to find something that doesn't strap there after surgery. Stitches, pressure on head etc. Is there any full face mask that may strap higher or not there at all?

You could certainly try using the headgear free Bleep interface and mouth taping.

Looks like a couple of FFMs might work for you:

Depends on how far above and below your ears the straps would need to go.
I hope you will heal and recover quickly!

They will put you on o2 and an alarm if o2 drops. They probably won't use CPAP after brain surgery

I would bet dollars to donuts they have you on cpap, if you have a history of sleep apnea and coming out of surgery medicated up where it will suppress respiratory drive. The last thing they will want is someone coding from sleep apnea, particularly if they know you have it. And it’s in the pre-op screening for all surgeries now. They would be wide open to a huge lawsuit if things went sideways.

That is extra thoughtful of you Stormy, knowing that most of your prayers are needed by your own family. Blessings to you.
