ResMed 10 - On/Off button

Post by JohnG80 » Tue May 14, 2019 8:37 pm

So last night I dropped my phone directly on top of my cpap machine (ResMed AirSense 10). I didn’t think it did any damage till this morning, when I could not turn the machine off. I ended up unplugging it from wall.

Has anyone else ever had a problem with on/off button? Or swapped out the on/off switch?

If you go into the settings, you can activate the Smart Start feature. It will automatically turn on when you put on your mask and start breathing...it will automatically turn off when you take the mask off.

Thanks I will try the smart start feature tonight. But does anyone know a repair facility near Chicago that can fix it?

to repair the on/off switch, need to replace the Main Board and that runs around $350 to $375 depending on the board needed.
I think I’ll use the Smart Start.

If you bought it from a DME and insurance paid for it, they should fix it.

I bought it from Apria, but they said it’s out of warranty.

You are showing the AirStart machine in your profile...you said you were using the AirSense model...Big difference

Yes, appears that I have an AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™. I could not find the smart start feature under my options...

https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed ... %20her.pdf

SmartStart should be there...see the manual above for how to get to the area to find it.

You still have the wrong machine showing in your profile...you are showing the AirSense 10 CPAP machine and not the Autoset.
It's not in the menu list under the A's...it's down in the R's.
For some reason it got stuck with ResMed in the first word and that put it down in the Rs.

It is not under "My Options"...It is in the settings menu. Press and hold the dial button and the home button together for 5 seconds and the "Settings" menu will appear on the screen.

Hopefully and most likely the on/off switch is not broken but the plastic button has been pushed in to far and is stuck. Easy fix for regular people.

The front panel snaps off and is consumer replaceable part by pulling on a notch on bottom edge with your fingernail/or some sort of plastic tool. This is the smaller panel that surrounds all the switches. knobs and screen.

Next take a look at the rectangle button and see if it is scewampus from when your phone hit it. This plastic button does snap off and on as well if you want to try it but first try and pull, tug and wiggle it so it does not smush the actual on/off switch underneath and attached to circuit board.
