Can you get electrocuted using bipap/crap?

Post by Hypno » Sat Apr 18, 2020 5:22 am

I don’t use my bipap most of the time because it doesn’t help and I can’t tolerate it but I leave it plugged in all the time

I was just wondering if there was a possibility that when I use it if I could get electrocuted and say ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh burning and then die???

You hear of people getting electrocuted you even see accidents and if something was wrong with an outlet could the electrical current go through my bipap and ZAP and KILL ME???!! :o :o :o

You bored ...

Basically no the bipap is double insulated and a maximum of 24 volts will reach your machine. There is no risk of electrocution whilst sleeping

We couldn't be that lucky.

In other words,"no, don't be stupid"

I don't use mine while soaking in the tub. I'm not worried.

In response to fear expressed by somebody I know, I tried searched high and low for anybody dying or being seriously injured by CPAP mishap or misuse.

I found one case where a CPAP machine fell out of a window and hit somebody on the head. That's the only thing I was able to find.

My advice is to keep your machine far from an open window and to have a working smoke and CO detector in the house.

And if D.H. couldn't find it or invent it you are good to go. I'm still trying to figure out his open window idea.

I will add the most likely danger is taking a bath with a plugged in XPAP. In my house that would be unlikely, but Who knows, and I do pay attention to what Who says! Jim

Not using your needed XPAP is a surer way to die sooner, maybe not as quick, but sooner.

Whoever gave you that ridiculous notion is no friend at all.
Unfriend them--remove them from your will--hire a specialist to "take them out".
You have my permission--but probably not the law's.

It's a Hypno, if it shows up again try catching it with a Pokeball. Or just throw Pokeballs at it to make it go away.
