Medicare that gets supplies free?

Post by dysfun2 » Fri Nov 20, 2020 5:39 pm

I used to be a customer of Ion My Health and they sent my supplies a couple times a year for free. Totally free to me.
I have Medicare only, no secondary.

I have not been able to find anyone else to do this.
Does anyone know of a company that will refill your supplies for free?

No. Sorry....I have never heard of a supplier that files Medicare and doesn't require patients to pay the 20% copay.
Technically or legally...providers aren't really supposed to forgive that 20% and not collect it per Medicare regulations.

Here's a review i found. Looks like they were sending supplies and not charging the copay. then they sold the customer list and the gaining company was back charging the people for items they got free. Very weird,,,,,,

I was with iONMYsleep for over 6 years and never had a problem. Always had prompt customer service, they were always on time with my supplies, I had a problem with delivery one time and they quickly reshipped my lost supplies. I never had to pay a copay. They were a fine company to do business with. Until the end of 2019. They sold their patient list to varys which I found out today is owned by Adapt health, I found this out because they have billed me for four months of CPAP supplies, when they changed companies I was notified, and I called and asked varys if I would be billed they stated at the time that everything should remain the same. I think I would have like to have been asked before they sold my account.instead of finding out I owe four resupply copays.

SNEAKY.
Medicare supplements can cover copays, but you pay upfront--the premiums can be shocking.
Our part b premiums alone this year will exceed the deductible for our taxes.

I am so grateful for tricare for life which of course is a government program for retired military and not really an insurance program. i pay my medicare part b premium and nothing for tricare for life. Then medicare pays their 80% and tricare for life pays the other 20% plus the medicare deductible. drugs are under tricare with normal co-payments, in 6 years of this arrangement nothing has come out of pocket except drug co-pays.

Thank you for your service.
This is the way it should be--instead of the all too common boot to the head.

you're welcome. the part people don't understand about a military career is that you start when you're say 20 and retire with half of your pay at 40ish. but, there's always a but, unless you learned some kind of a trade that you can transfer to civilian work, when you're looking for work you're competing with 20 year olds and making what they make as starters. you don't get rich in the military and usually don't have a big bank account. so all these exta little perks really help make the money work.

It's open enrollment and it pays to shop around--especially for Part D plans if you have expensive medications. But confusing, too. If you want help looking at various supplementary insurers, call your local SHIP/HICAP (the number is on the back of the Medicare and You book you receive every year or you can find it at www.medicare.gov for FREE counseling and assistance in choosing a supplemental plan.

We talk to SHIIP every year, as too many carriers use bait and switch schemes.
They suck you in one year with lower prices and better coverage, but the folliwing year, they do an about face.
I even suspect some collude to alternate thrifty years and ripoff years to catch the lazy seniors.
Warning--12 days left to switch your coverage!
Don't be a sucker!
