We got our second (Moderna) shot yesterday morning. Neither of us have had any major side effects. The only thing I noticed was my back hurt more than usual before I went to bed last night. I had a short period of time where I felt like I was going into an asthma attack, but it passed in about 15 minutes. My arm is a little warm and tender where I got the shot.

My wife is scheduled for Monday morning 3/8. She is a school teacher at a school that doesn’t require mask but she is now on leave with another health issue. I am type 1 diabetic and they are also starting my category on same day. I hope we both are able to get first dose. It will be Pfizer or Moderna.

Chunkyfrog, seems like you are 2 days ahead of me. I get my second jab of Moderna
in 8 days. I never thought I would ever say this but I miss going to the gym and plan
to start back in 2 weeks. My gym was never closed but being 70 years old and having
diabetes, obesity and OSA requiring the cpap and oxygen with it I didn't think it was
safe for me to go till I had the vaccine. One of the reason's I want to get back to the
gym is if I get regular exercise my 95% pressure which is now about 18 will come down
2 or 3 even if my weight stays the same.

According to the Pfizer trials, the number of people in the vaccinated group contracting COVID fell to near zero 12 days after the first dose. The placebo group kept getting infected.

Now, don't go wild!

(They are thinking the protection from one dose will not last but a few months. The second dose will correct this.)

Not to worry.
I will continue to wear masks, because of new strains and nervous people.
The steampunk where they know me, but "normal" masks where they don't.

There are a lot of studies out showing most of the coved cases ending up in ICU
are low in vitamin D . Also just having adequate vitamin D seems to be linked to
a 39% less likely hood of getting covid . So by making sure my vitamin D is adequate
vitamin D and getting the vaccine I guess I may be pretty well protected. One other
thing about vitamin D I say one DR. claiming higher levels of vitamin D helped our
OSA. Well it didn't help mine any but it did help my myopia a lot.

Vaccine: 99.9% of your formula, vit D - 0.1%

Vitamin D hasn't worked out so well against COVID.
... there is little good evidence on vitamin D and covid-19, highlights the need for further research, and supports existing government advice that adults and children in the UK should take 10 μg (400 IU) a day between October and March, to optimise musculoskeletal health. It also recommends that certain populations such as minority ethnic groups, consider taking vitamin D throughout the year.

One issue is that a lot of the testing on vitamin D was done using a single large dose.

A better way is to take a daily smaller dose and have adequate levels prior to getting infected.

A vitamin D pill will not do as much good as a half hour or so of SUNSHINE.
Especially if you spend it walking, working in the garden, or otherwise moving about.
Walking off those carbs makes a huge difference.
Something about sun and sweat makes me happy. (er, hoppy)

2nd dose of moderna is kicking my butt even a week later...fever, chills, aches, headaches. Covid tested negative just to be sure.
