Cpap RX now given online

Post by cpap626 » Fri Mar 19, 2021 10:46 am

I took a sleep test a couple years ago, I had mild sleep apnea but never followed up on it because I did not want to deal with compliance or the DME. I bought a used cpap but now I am looking for a travel machine. I cant find a dreamstation go used and I cannot buy one new without an RX. I went to a website called Health Sqyre. Filled out a questioner of who and when I was diagnosed, and for $80 I got a lifetime RX. Now I feel a lot better having an RX without it being on my primary medical record, it seems like whenever you have something wrong with me the doctor blames sleep apnea and does not listen to you. The website also has a package for a mail in sleep test and then if it comes back positive they give you an RX. Hoping this helps others like me who really dont want want to deal with the insurance or those who dont have insurance.

When my sleep doctor retired, I just asked my GP if he could write a note and an updated Rx to my DME every year at my annual well visit. He said he knows almost nothing about CPAP but would be glad to accommodate me. This is working out well for several years now.

I'm guessing you are male because if you are female they blame everything on menopause.

Why should your doctor listen to *me* about what's wrong with *you*?

I have done the same thing for several years. Have not seen my "sleep doctor" in 12 years.

Even those who do, realize that as we age, simple OSA may give way to more complicated problems, requiring the expertise of a pneumonologist.
It makes sense that a doctor might want to avoid liability.
