Is there a war on CPAP, Dreamwear users

I'm going on 6 years using CPAP. The mask I've always used was Dreamwear. Except for the first, never purchased them from authorized sources. They were cheap and even though they said they were missing one item, they always came complete. I just orderd one from my last source and it came without the strap. It even had an official part number from Philips. So, was there an official crackdown on this game we always played? It looks like now I'll be paying twice as much. Any sources? Haven't had a prescription in years.

Your unauthorized supplier was being generous.
You have been fortunate in the past.
The rx-only thing has been in effect for years.
Small private sellers are not absolutely bound to the rule.
Many cpappers only buy parts as needed--some parts last longer than others.

EBay sellers often stated that a part was missing to get around the RX requirement ban for masks and would just include the "missing" part.
Why they changed? Who knows but likely they realized they could split up the package and make more money.

I don't know where you were getting your masks but if off of EBay...that's probably the reason.
