Brand new resmed 10, can't connect to wireless in Canada

Post by Eduhallal » Tue Nov 09, 2021 7:47 pm

Hello!

I just received my brand new resmed 10 airsense and I am trying to get adapted to sleeping with air blowing in my face... I know it will come with time :)

I can't seem to get any wireless signal, although my house has wireless signal for our cell phones...
I suspect my machine was not intended to be sold in the Canadian market, since some of the flyers came in german (!).

I've tried to research online, but haven't found any way to change/reprogram the modem for Canada, if it's really a machine from another zone.

Any insights on this please ?

Thanks!

Where is the machine supposed to be from - a regular dealer, someone on Craigslist, a friend, who?

But in any case, I don't think Cpaps do Wifi...

Oh sorry I forgot to post that info!
I bought it from a website called sleepcpap.ca
It was bought brand new.

I suggest you send it back to sleepcpap.ca for repair or replacement.

Having said that, the benefits of connectivity are really for the doctor / provider, not the patient. Yes, there is an app which gives you limited data (but no more than the machine itself). But if you really need to know what's going on with your therapy you need Oscar: https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/
* Download Oscar
* Oscar help
* An alternative to Oscar - try SleepHQ

I have no medical training or qualifications. Take my advice for what it's worth.

Thanks for your insight.

Taking in consideration that the machine is working fine, and there’s a massive shortage, I don’t think I will send it back.
If I could buy it elsewhere maybe I would…

Thanks again!

I believe CPAP machines use cellphone technology, not wireless.

Make sure there's an SD card in your CPAP. You can take it to your doctor, when you visit. (S)he can read it.

Yes you’re right, they used cellphone technology.

And yes it does have an SD card, so I guess I will be fine.

You could try using the Bluetooth connection with the Resmed app to a Smartphone or tablet. It won't be as detailed as the data OSCAR could give you, but may give you a quick daily check of how your numbers are.

How do you know?

Does the upper right contain bars with a line through it? Is the signal just weak? Could your device be in airplane mode?

If you go into the about menu, you can see information about the modem, what does yours say?

On the back will be a device label that describes the wireless technology, expect the IC: code to end with CDMA, 3G, or 4G. What does yours end with?

Could you have an older device with CDMA or 3G and that technology shutdown in your area?

Cellular is a form of wireless technology.

"MyAir
Just going by what I've found online on the Resmed AirSense 10 and BT. It could be that two sources are incorrect.

Easily track your sleep progress by syncing your CPAP sleep data such as AHI information to ResMed’s online support program and application via bluetooth connectivity. MyAir will automatically download each of your sleep therapy sessions from your machine and present it to you in a convenient and user friendly way. With a scoring system based off of your nightly therapy data, your myAir Score will reflect your CPAP therapy progress. In addition, myAir will offer helpful tips and educational videos to maximize your therapy comfort and success."

Not that it *could* be incorrect. it *is* incorrect.

The AirSense 10 does not support bluetooth. Period. A non-resmed site is simply not authoritative.

The MyAir app *does* support bluetooth, but only when connecting to bluetooth enabled devices, such as the AirMini and Air 11.

Ahh, the 11. That should be helpful to those who are satisfied with barebones data. I would think for each one that uses OSCAR, a thousand use MyAir.

The bars are all gray, so no signal. In fact I activated and de-activated the airplane mode hoping that would somehow help, but nothing...

I hope not, since I just bought this machine brand new from a website here in Canada...
