Resmed Aircurve 10 issue

Post by SparklesMum » Sat Nov 13, 2021 6:43 pm

Hello,

I’m new here, experiencing an issue on my 1 month old Resmed Aircurve 10 ST. It’s been working great up until 3 nights ago, when I started having problems with rain out in my nasal cushion and hose. I wash the mask, hose, and water tank daily and dry thoroughly. Same conditions in my room and bipap since starting therapy on 10/6/21. Last night I hooked everything up as usual, went to run warmup, but noticed heater system fault pop up. I wasn’t sure what to do, so I didn’t wear it last night, and felt poorly today. It says it can run without heat. Won’t the water temperature be uncomfortable? Should I raise the temperature in the room? I’ve made a call to my provider, but in the meantime any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Lisa aka SparklesMum

Unplug your AirCurve wait a minute and pug it back in, *maybe* it will reset your humidifier heater.

You can still run your device just fine, with water in it. This is called passover humidification. And it *might* provide enough humidity for your needs. And no, the heater is not intended to heat the water for temperature comfort, it heats the water to increase the amount of humidity.

And it rarely gets uncomfortably warm--water evaporates at fairly low temperatures.
This is why a clothesline can get your wash dry--just not fast as the dryer.
My mother hung jeans on the line in freezing weather.
We brought them in as stiff as a board; but once they warmed to room temperature,
everything was dry--and incredibly soft.

Thanks, I will try that, it can’t hurt. Hopefully it works!

Thanks, hopefully I won’t notice unheated humidity. I know having asthma, warm moist air feels nice. Just didn’t want to make things worse by running my bipap. :D

I unplugged it for a few minutes, plugged it back in, and so far so good! Thank you!
