No distilled water!

Post by jpek » Wed Feb 16, 2022 11:41 am

Hello, everyone. I live in Northern California, San Francisco Bay Area. In my city and in at least one surrounding town, there seems to be a drastic shortage of distilled water. Is anybody else dealing with this? I haven't been able to find it for weeks and have now officially run out. I'm thinking I'll need to start using regular tap water and periodically using those descaling tablets they have for cleaning dentures. Any other solutions out there? I don't suppose we can order distilled water online? Seems like it would be expensive to ship.

Any drinkable water is fine...nothing will be damaged. If mineral deposits accumulate in your water tub, clean with a vinegar solution. Bottled drinking water works great.

I'm not suggesting that someone do this but I guess IF you are up for some experimenting - here is one...

As an added bonus there is some discussion about the other versions of water.

Watch all the folks below that claim to not use distilled but who always respond.

Here's another cool way to distill water.
- Pour water into your CPAP humidifier
- Turn on your CPAP

Well, that's half the process. :)

Or just bribe Pugsy to join them together.

My tank holds 14 ounces, not a lot more than one night's worth.
That is 9 nights per gallon, and maybe a little left over.
Considering the cost, tap water gets more appealing all the time.
Delime with vinegar--and eat a pickle before bed.

Or even citric acid, and no acetic acid smell :)

I love this SleepGeek. But just use for distilling water and not turning Beer into Whisky or Wine into Grappa.
