Is it me or is this message board a mess?

Post by tizzzle » Sun Aug 21, 2022 2:34 am

There are 2300 topics here. Aside from keyword searches, which aren't all that effective,, is this just a constant stream of content with no organization?

It's a discussion forum. They're all like that.

What are you looking for?
Freeze this moment a little bit longer.
Make each sensation a little bit stronger.
Experience slips away.

A bunch of years ago I tried to put together an all-encompassing summary

search.php?keywords=%22cpap+basics-%22& ... mit=Search

but over time a lot of links got broken and I lost interest.

So far you've complained about the sleep industry and forum organization. Do you actually need something or are you here just to P&M?

both, actually. it's inherent in the forum software that things AREN'T broken down into cluster of individual topics. that is, one section for bilevel, one section for apap, one section for cpap and so on and so forth. there are many brands of forum software that do basically the same thing.

i'm not sure if the other sleep apnea forums do similarly or not as i only frequent this one.

i love it here and wouldn't want it any other way.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

IMO, part of the reason things are so random is that many posters do not do their homework. The same questions are asked over and over again. Doing one's own homework requires effort. There are those who are too lazy to put in the work, preferring to be spoon fed by someone else. And our society has become skewed toward instant gratification, not doing the work. I don't mean to whine, but it bugs the dickens out of me and is an abuse of the experts' time

The forum is like a crowd, milling around, discussing various topics.
I get to be like a little bird, flying around, and eavesdropping on everyone.
It's pure heaven.
