This is so timely TODAY.
It is just a good thing I did not show this to my wife before her doctor appointment today.
After several years of trying to convince my wife to have a sleep study, I teamed up with her doctor and we convinced her today to have a test.
Doc said, because of Covid they no longer test in lab.
So he is setting up a home study. Can those of you familiar with home study tests point out for me what I need to pay attention to.
I know they can vary from a simple recording pulse ox device to a portable lab with video.
What should I insist on today as a minimum standard for a home test.

At the above link is an explanation of the various levels of data gathering for home sleep studies.

If it were me or my family member nothing less than a Type 2 home sleep study would be what I would expect.
What should I insist on today as a minimum standard for a home test.

Although I am thankful for my in-lab diagnostic study and titration, I admit that they were probably the closest thing to being abducted by aliens that I have ever experienced.

I mean, so I assume.

I seem to recall fewer sensors stuck to my body, and a lot more stuck to my head.
Anybody have a good solution for the glue they stick in your HAIR?
HARDLY O.T., I might add.

Not to hijack further a non-OT/OT-sleep-study-cartoon thread with more alien-abduction talk, but:
"Sleep paralysis is a common phenomenon--up to 60 percent of people have at least one episode, in which the brain and body momentarily desynchronize when waking from REM sleep. The body remains paralyzed, as is standard during the REM cycle, but the mind is semi-lucid or fully cognizant of its surroundings, even, according to a Japanese study, if one's eyes are closed. The experience can't be technically classified as either waking or sleeping. For an unlucky handful of people, fleeting paralysis is accompanied by horrifying visual and auditory hallucinations: bright lights, a sense of choking and the conviction that an intruder is present."--https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/arti ... -real-deal

We come in peace.
Take us to your leader.
Or Burger King--we are a little peckish.
It was a long flight, and they lost our bags.

Yes, my wife just got a sleep study in the local sleep lab a few months ago.

What helped me get through my sleep studies was using Ambien...my sleep doctor told me that it doesn't affect the data to any appreciable degree, and it allowed me to sleep in the lab with all the probes and everything *smile*.
