New CPAP User

Post by Nemo48 » Sat Oct 28, 2023 9:23 pm

Greetings from Seattle. I'm a relatively new CPAP user (since this summer) and signed up today for the forum. I had a sleep study 15 years ago and did not have sleep apnea then. Because I have recently experienced excessive daytime sleepiness, I was given another sleep study and this time was diagnosed with mild to moderate sleep apnea. I look forward to learning more about CPAP techniques and insights from others here. I'm retired, age 75, and a reader, a cyclist and play piano. I am married with a daughter and a son and two young grandchildren.

Hi, welcome to the forum :D . Can you fill in your Profile with type of machine/model, etc and mask details please so we'll all know what you have when reading/advising... thanks. Once that's done we'll see what's what.

Let me add my welcome! How is PAP going for you? Are you feeling less sleepy during the day?

Thank you for your welcome, Yes, tiredness during the day has noticeably decreased and quality of sleep has increased. I use a Garmin fitness watch, which tracks sleep (I take this data as helpful to notice trends, but it is not as accurate as sleep study data)

Feel free to post a couple of Oscar charts (no calendar needed btw) but you may need to do it on e.g. Imgur.com with a link left in this thread because forum attachmts are full. Then people will help you interpret results and advise/suggest any changes that might need doing.
