Need new machine, what's state of art in 2023?
Hi All,
It's finally time to replace my old M-Series Auto (well past time...) and I was wondering what folks recommend for the upgrade. I'm looking for APAP with bells and whistles and would love something that's capable of capturing my data on a USB or other memory device so I can track how I'm doing. And of course, humidifier.
What do folks suggest? Or can someone link to a recent discussion on the topic?
I'd really appreciate some help before the DME provider tries to saddle me with some bottom of the line machine that's worse than what I've got...
Thanks from Denver!

Awesome, thanks for the response. One other question - can anyone let me know what kinds of new features have come on the market in the last 15 years that I should be aware of when shopping for a new machine?
TIA!
TIA!

Although I can't report any issues personally, I can't recommend Phillips machines.
I had a Dream Station 1, which was replaced by a Dream Station 2 due to a recall.
While I did not experience any issues, the behavior of this company has lead my to conclude they're not reputable and that I would not get another Phillips machine (if I have a choice).

I would recommend the heated tube, since most of us experience winter, and the icicle nose.

While an Airsense 11 is the newest - if it were me - I would opt for the Airsense 10 for a couple reasons.
More people have the 10 and can help when you have questions.
The 10 will likely be cheaper - IF you were buying OOP.
You can likely find 10 replacement parts & supplies easily.
Things likes hoses, water chambers, etc.
You will want spares of everything.
But either will have a slot for an SD Card.
You can use OSCAR to read your card and understand how you are doing.
Avoid any Chinese models.
Make sure its an auto.
Have the doc write the exact make and model on the *equipment order* commonly called a script here.
Get a copy of the *equipment order* for your records.
That way the DME can't sell you something else.
Get one for a *Mask of the patients choice* while you are there.
IF for some reason your doc won't do those things for you it is time to find another doc.

I would opt for the ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset. It has a bigger motor than the 11.

Thanks for that info. Just curious if anyone knows whether the Airsense 10 Autoset draws more power than the 11 Autoset, as I may be taking this camping with me and I'd like to get as many nights out of my battery as possible.Deborah K. wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 4:59 pmI would opt for the ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset. I can't think of any reason why it would draw more power. I think they just put a smaller, cheaper motor in the 11 to save themselves money.

I'm sure they'll pass those savings along to their customers.....Deborah K. wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 10:45 amI can't think of any reason why it would draw more power. I think they just put a smaller, cheaper motor in the 11 to save themselves money.

The Airsense 10 uses a 90-watt power supply, while the 11 uses a 65-watt power supply. The 11 produces the same pressures with less power, making it more efficient. I have noticed a lower power draw when testing with my battery setup.
